Chrissandra's 2012 Carnival Pride Review May 27 - June 3 (lots of pics)

LOL yeah it's not in the name of the dish, but it's in the description - there's a grilled chicken breast that also comes with the dish.

Funny, Cass! Since he called it "Bacon Macaroni and Cheese". I was afraid it was a bog ole' slab of bacon fat....LOL!!!!!

Glad to know it's CHICKEN..........

After dinner we went to the casino for our final night of fun. We had all agreed that we didn't feel like going to any of the comedy shows so we waited for some other people to sit at Let It Ride. As soon as we sat down Cass caught a full house and was up a quick $240! She tucked aside her week's buy in and just played out the rest. I was having fun playing but kept hearing the Tower of Cash taunt me. I cashed in a few chips and put more money into that thing than I care to admit. After my final $5, I conceded my loss.

Tower of Cash makes me pout

By this point it was almost 11 and we knew we had to shower and finish packing before getting up early. So we said our farewells and Cass and Lauren were sad to say goodbye to each other. I know it won't be too long until we see them again.

We made sure we had everything filled out for the following morning (customs form, room service for breakfast) before turning in.

I'm usually pretty sad this time of the cruise but knowing what was coming the following week was a real boon to the post cruise blues.

Yeah silly Carnival officially named the dish b.m.c (bacon mac and cheese) but in the full description it also says chicken comes with it (so you aren't surprised when they set it down in front of you!) I guess BMCC sounded too much like a Community College or something :p

Sunday - Debarkation

We always do self-assist debarkation on the Pride. It gets us off the ship much faster and isn't that much of a hassle. We had pretty much everything packed the night before and put out our room service tag for 6:30 delivery. We knew from experience that they are overrun with room service that morning so not to rely on it as a wake up call. We got up at 6:30 and the food was delivered 10 minutes later. We ate while finishing packing and double checking that we didn't forget anything (or pack our Sail and Sign cards ).

I checked our box outside the room and our Sail and Sign bill had been delivered. We spent just over $400 for the whole week. But we had the $100 in OBC so our bill was a little over $300. Not too shabby. Thank you Shambooze :D

We usually hang out on deck 3 near Raphael's for debarkation but since we were out of our room a little ealier we decided to shoot for deck 2 (the deck you debark from). Found a nice little bench right by the staircase outside of Starry Nights lounge. They were right on time with starting debarking and we were planned for 9:15. They called our deck at 9 and we went straight out. Customs was incredibly quick, we've never had anyone check anything at customs but we're always honest on our forms. I was pulling out of the parking lot at 9:15 and we were home by 9:40.

So that's pretty much it for the review. I think Cass is going to post some random shots of the ship from our previous cruises so please feel free to ask if you have any specific requests (I can assure you we have none of the night club though :D). She should also be posting the fun times later this week.

And no I haven't forgotten about the surprise but I have to get some work done now and I'll post it later tonight ;)

love your reviews! I may have missed it before, but what type of camera do you guys use? also can't wait for the surprise!

Thank you. The camera is just a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS3. It was a gift from the owner of my company last Christmas. It's got a lot of great modes for different scenes and situations. The stabilization is amazing. I can get great pictures while walking so I don't have to stop the flow of traffic.

Recap -

I first want to thank everyone on the ship for making this another fantastic cruise(Jaime, Uncle Bruce, Gumby, Bunnie etc...). All the cruise snobs can call Carnival 'budget' all they like, we have loved every single cruise we've been on. I'd also like to thank all the great people from our roll call. There are too many to name but you guys and gals really helped make the cruise more fun and enjoyable (a good roll call can go a long way towards making a cruise better). And lastly, thanks to all of you for the kind words. It's nice to know that you enjoy the work we put into it.

So I do have to say that the 2.0 upgrades on the Liberty spoiled us, or at least me. I can't tell you how many times I wanted tacos from the Blue Iguana for lunch :o. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but once you go 2.0, you don't go back.

I wish there was more itinerary options out of Baltimore but since it takes 2 days just to get down to Florida, I understand why it's limited.

We always enjoy the casino but it was nice to branch out and not spend 5-6 nights solely there. Also easier on the wallet as I don't seem to have luck on my side when money is involved.

And finally, the reason I'm so excited for tomorrow is I get to pick up Vasher!!! Who or what is Vasher you ask? This little guy

He is our soon to be Australian Shepherd, Blue Merle baby boy. I've been talking to the breeder since January and they finally had a litter April 8. So in 24 hours I'll have this cutie in my arms.

Cass is scanning docs now and will have them posted a little later tonight.

Absolutely one of the most enjoyable reviews I've seen on CC. You two are so cute, and look like such fun! I have to admit I was anxiously awaiting the surprise and that sweet, adorable little fur baby did not disappoint! What a love! I agree with above poster, he is a lucky boy. You had all of us dog lovers sniffling at the beginning and end of the review. Can't wait for your next cruise!

Happy sailing and enjoy those puppy kisses!!!

I totally loved the reviews and pics of your cruise. Brings me memories of my earlier cruises and can't wait for our 10 days on the Breeze. I will definitely LOVE reading your reviews of our Breezers cruise! And Vasher is Beautiful! So happy for both of you!
