johneeo Posted June 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2012 My question is if you do not book a cabana and are gold card, do you have access to Barefoot beach without booking a cabana?
Rare Lionesss Posted June 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2012 If you are in a suite and have a gold card you just show it to the attendant at the entrance to barefoot beach and you will be issued a wristband so you do not have to pull your sea pass card out every time you go in. We arrive early and once we get our wristband one of the local carries our chairs and float mats to the spot we camp out at under the shade trees. Then we are off to explore before it gets to crowded on the island. This year we are doing ski doos, and then if the slide is opened we will venture on it. Safe travels. Sue and crew Thanx for the response, but it does not answer my question. Suppose you are a gold card, and have a cabin in steerage, not a suite. Does the gold card get you into Barefoot beach? Rare Lionesss Posted June 16, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2012 Okay Are you talking Gold Sea Pass or Gold Member. You can only have a Gold Sea Pass if you are in a suite. If you are a Gold Member you sailed a couple cruisers. Suite guest have the Gold Sea Pass. Gold Members have sailed a couple cruises. Cabana people no matter what cabin or sea pass color---- if they get a cabana on Barefoot beach or Nellies beach get in. Does this help? Safe travels Sue and crew

If I understand correctly, booking a suite gets you a gold sea pass. Having been on numerous cruises, you become a gold Crown and Anchor member, but that has nothing to do with the gold sea pass that gets you onto Barefoot Beach. #1TravelMom Posted June 17, 2012 #7 Share Posted June 17, 2012 I'm not sure why people would prefer this beach. It seems small and very crowded to me. We really enjoyed our day at Columbus Cove. It's quite a distance if you walk, but just a short tram ride.
Rare Lionesss Posted June 17, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 17, 2012 In a couple weeks this will be our third visit to Barefoot beach. Crowded..........No. We have gotten the same spot under two trees the last two times we were there and plan another visit to the same area. When we went to eat, no line, sat down at one of the goofy chairs arround a table. They are not made to eat at a table. Safe travels.

No one said you must use Barefoot Beach..even if you meet the requirements to do so..doesn't mean you "have" to...Go wherever "you" want to and enjoy...However many do prefer this beach and the extra perks that come with using it ;):)
