Winning Posted June 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2012 Can anyone tell me if Carnival requires passangers to be up to date on vaccines.
firefly333 Posted June 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2012 Not generally. There may be some cruiselines that go to S. America that require it, but I cant think of any Carnival cruises that you need anything.
MSRussell Posted June 20, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2012 Good question. But no, you don't have to have them. I do keep up to date on my flu shot though, just in case. Melanie
jmcancruise Posted June 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 20, 2012 They are not required by Carnival, however, depending on where you are you might want to check as to whether something might be a good idea. We have on a couple of occassion gotten some vacine. Just depends on where we are going. Can never be too careful.
cruiseonthebrain Posted June 20, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 20, 2012 Can anyone tell me if Carnival requires passangers to be up to date on vaccines. It depends on whether you plan to use the hot tubs on the ship
ccruisequeen Posted June 20, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 20, 2012 I always try to update my flu shot at least a week before cruising. This gives me a chance to recover from any after-effects caused from the shot.
zqvol Posted June 20, 2012 #7 Share Posted June 20, 2012 Can anyone tell me if Carnival requires passangers to be up to date on vaccines. Carnival does not require anything special for MOST voyages, however it is always wise to check with your personal physician for questions of this nature. dljones Posted June 20, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 20, 2012 Getting vacinated for hepatitis A & B isn't a bad idea at all. In fact, I think it is recommended for just about everyone cruising or not!
Winning Posted June 20, 2012 Author #9 Share Posted June 20, 2012 Well that's good to know, I might consider hep a because who knows how often they wash their hands after using the restroom and before preparing your food. She b not worried about because I won't be sharing needles or having sex with anyone other then my husband. And the flu shot I'd just a joke. But thank you all for answering my question. You don't never know. Hepatitis B vaccine takes a while though. Three shots 1 and 6 months after the first. Still a good idea overall...

Still a good idea overall... I don't totally understand the whole thing, but employee health said (i don't remember the exact wording) the hep B doesn't work on me. Or my body doesn't show it to work...I dunno. :o
Rottweiler Puppy Posted June 21, 2012 #13 Share Posted June 21, 2012 Can anyone tell me if Carnival requires passangers to be up to date on vaccines. Not that I recall. My embarkation ritual consists of chewing up 5 Alka Seltzers, foaming, barking and dragging my butt across the carpet during checkin and no one asked me if I was vaccinated. So I think they dont check. Just kidding, I only chew up 2. 5 would be just crazy
