Charging for dvd rental?

Does anyone know if you are now charged for borrowing dvds on the Noordam?

 

We weren't charged last year, but read somewhere that they charge?

I can't speak about the Noordam since I was last on her a year and a half ago but I just left the Ryndam two days ago and there was no charge for the DVD rental. I would think it would be free on all ships, if it is free on one.

I try to read all the reviews, and so far I haven't heard anyone mention about a charge to rent the DVD's. Years ago there was a charge.

We haven't been charged in years:) On the Maasdam in March & the Prinsendam in November - no charge on either one:) I think you are just fine. Have a great cruise:D

Was on Nieuw Amsterdam a week ago and cabins have TV's with built-in DVD players and there was NO charge for DVDs. We called the front desk and movie was delivered within 15-minutes (one movie at a time).

 

Speaking of movies... LOVED the screening room with the nice highback chairs. We saw a couple of movies there. Would have enjoyed seeing more but the times just didn't jive with us with so many ports to see!

You should find a booklet listing all the DVD's available. It should be either on the desk (look behind the little rail), or on the shelf by the TV.

We brought our own movies, but I was very impressed with the selection of DVD's offered. It was much more extensive than I would have imagined. (this was the Zuiderdam)

If you check the booklet for the DVDs they have a popcorn and soda deal -- my daughter and grandson did it -- thought it was great.

No charge on the Zuiderdam in May and I haven't heard anybody else talking about charging for DVD's.
