Emerald Dining Room

We're going on the Emerald in November and I read somewhere that one of the dining rooms is open for lunch on the day we board. Does anyone know if this is true?

Yes one of the main DR's will be open from Noon to 1:30 on embarkation day.

It's open till 1:30 PM.

It will also be open for lunch on all sea days

It's the DaVinci Dining Room, Deck 6 mid-ship.

There used to be a dining room open every day for lunch. I hate that Princess discontinued having one open on port days. The good news on our last Princess cruise was that since we did not arrive to Curacao until after noon, the dining room still opened that day.

As others have pointed out one of the main dining rooms is open for lunch from 12-1:30 on embarkation day, HOWEVER the staff (well most at least) will try to direct you to the Horizon Court, be persistent if it's between 12-1:30 in getting into the dining room. Usually very empty and quiet (waiter service) as opposed to the mob scene you'll find in the Horizon Court (buffet service).

Honestly, we had the issue with being turned away on embarkation day on the Ruby, but not on our most recent cruises on the Star and the Emerald. I doubt there will be an issue on the Emerald- we saw many people dining in there on embarkation day.
