How to Post Photos

Since I posted that about 30 minutes ago, I decided to go into Safari instead of Internet Explorer and I was able to see the links down the bottom of my photos on Photo Bucket. They were not showing up when using Internet Explorer! I have now posted 3 photos on the Princess page. Thanks to everyone on for their help.

OK he we go with a test. I have a Dropbox URL link and will try to post it in the picture icon.

Will see if this test works. When I preview it shows only a small black box. so lets see how it works.

Something is not working for you somewhere along the line, so why not try testing with the URL for this photo of the Riviera? :

Simply click on the photo Icon, then cut and paste the entire URL into the Box (repeating HTTP is fine, leave it there)

Happy Posting!

Dropbox is not a good host for photo links because they use cloud trickery to store and show your photos. You can show them on a web site but only using embedded code, which CC will not allow you to do here. Google drive works the same way. (Although I think there are some cloud services that will give you direct links to the actual files for a fee.)

But, it is a really nice photo, as anyone can see who digs up the dropbox link you tried to show above:

DRIB, Thanks a bunch. this info gets me a lot closer. I can see now if the URL has a short link, it most likely will not work. I will open up some new accounts on Dropshot and Picasa. I will be looking when copying the link or link location for that LONG URL link. Hopfully there is a PK class or youtube to find out the easiest way to use maneuver around these other cloud services? I already downloaded Picasa and it's giving me trouble exporting the links....

I tried it and your picture link works just fine. When I right click on a picture in Dropshot, I see view page source and I copied the entire thing below. Just don't see where you got that nice URL dropshot link from the source code?

What you want to do is to continue to right click, with your cursor over the image, naturally, until you see this Window:

Thanks for all your help. What I was doing was right clicking on the small image and seeing a limited selection of things to select. When I expanded the picture to full size and right clicking, I now see "Copy URL". Got it and see picture below of our tour guide at the rock of Gibraltar.

I sure hope this help other cruisers post quality pictures....

Question in Dropshot:

Does anyone know how to use the widget to setup pictures side-by-side or one over the other? I see you can select what you want and copy the code. But then what, where is this code placed?

100656.jpg

Wanted to resize pictures and found out you need to be a paying customer to resize pictures, wonder if this widget is also blocked out?

Thanks in advance for all your help on this thread....
