South Beach Hotel

On Oceania cruise April 20 out of Miami. My husband and I are looking for a South Beach hotel that would have the art deco feel we read so much about. Or a larger hotel near all the action. Thanks for any suggestions. Price is not the only consideration as this is just one night.

If you want a larger hotel, go with The Loews, Ritz-Carlton South Beach, The Delano, The Shore Club, The Setai, The Gansavoort, or The W.

They are all 4-5 star, large, resort hotels that are oceanfront in the best part of South Beach, ocean and Collins.

You can click on my blog for links to all of the above.

Ritz Carlton is very art deco, very "50s" shiek, recreates the "DiLido" hotel it once was.

The Club floor rooms are the best, 6 oustanding food and beverage presentations each day. You will never need to spend money on food!

We are staying at the Colony Hotel right on Ocean Drive in October before our cruise. Have stayed there before and is is right in all of the action. Very reasonably priced as well.

My Daughter just stayed at this hotel in May, and she liked it a lot.:)

There is a whole row of the art deco hotels at the beginning of Ocean Drive. There facades are all that art deco. Downside is that they will be louder at night.

The Ritz Carlton and the Lowe's are located about a 30 minute walk from where Ocean Drive starts. If you stay there I would ask for a room facing the Ocean if it fits your budget.

Ritz Carlton is a very luxurious hotel and is medium size.

The Lowe's which was mentioned is on a very large piece of property with several towers with lots on the property to do. Prices will vary by not only room but tower you select.
