I was so happy and really enjoyed the Sea Food Buffet on Embarkation Day in the Past only on Princess Cruise Line Ships! Princess from the SHIP HOOKER section of Red Hook .. Nothing is as great as Fresh Caught MAINE LOBSTER! In the young State of Maine which was Massachusetts once. In Maine, USA it is a Profession passed down in families for generations now. Only a very limited amount of licenses are issued. Did you see also now Scallops are going to explode in price? YIKES!

Boomer 123 Posted August 30, 2012 #11 Share Posted August 30, 2012 Haven't been onboard in almost a year, but last January we did have an abundance of lobster claws on embarkation night. You must have caught one of the last times they served lobster claws. Their objective was to siphon off some of the crowd that showed up at the DR door on the first evening but it didn't work out so well. They found that it was costing them to much money to continue at the buffet since everyone was going to the buffet only for the lobster/crab then going to the dining room for dinner also. Come to think of it I haven't seen the crab legs in the dining room lately either although they are to messy to eat at the table.

AAAAmerican Posted September 10, 2012 Author #24 Share Posted September 10, 2012 At least Princess Cruise lines still have the Embarkation Served Lunch in a MDR. The Bon -Voyage programers as well B2B cruisers and boarding passengers may partake of this culinary asset. Some of the staff greeting boarding passengers do try to allay them away and point them above to the SHIP ..lines on the Lido Deck. Try to board if possible about High Noon and be seated and waited upon with quality presentations in the MDR. In the MDR the Cruise line does try to have the best wait staff to make a better presentation on the Bon-Voyager's so as to increase the Booking Rate, it IMHO is a great management practice which other Cruise Lines should follow suit now. Princess is usually one of the first ones doing things well setting the standard on cruise ships.
