katiepe Posted September 11, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2012 So I am 45 days out today and already can not book Teppanyaki for any of the days of our October Spirit sailing. Do you think we would ever get a reservation once we board? Do they ever add reservation times later. DH really wanted to do this:(
Cruisin&Relaxin Posted September 11, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2012 So I am 45 days out today and already can not book Teppanyaki for any of the days of our October Spirit sailing.Do you think we would ever get a reservation once we board? Do they ever add reservation times later. DH really wanted to do this:( NCL only makes available a limited number of reservations available for advance on-line reservations. Once you board, try again ASAP and you will find other time slots open. If you are in a suite, the concierge should be able to get you in if you do it soon enough. katiepe Posted September 11, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted September 11, 2012 Thanks we will try that. No concierge for us I am afraid.
RYMOMA Posted September 11, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2012 last year on the GEM we booked when on board we knew the night we wanted ahead of time and booked it the second day shall be doing the same in less than
cruis247g Posted September 11, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2012 We have booked Teppanyaki onboard a couple of times. I'm not sure if we have just been lucky or if it is usually available after boarding.
Rare conandrob240 Posted September 11, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 11, 2012 On a recent Epic cruise, Tepanyaki was available every night as a walk- up. Sometimes. Some times pts were gone, but,if you are flexible, even a walk up wil typically be possible.

Rare mizLORInj Posted September 11, 2012 #8 Share Posted September 11, 2012 We booked it while onboard. Usually day of embarkation at lunchtime there is a setup in the buffet area with all the menus and a reservations agent so you can book it there too. Novastar Posted September 11, 2012 #9 Share Posted September 11, 2012 I've booked onboard too! My preferred dining time of 7:00 pm was already taken but we had no trouble making a reservation for later.
rvsullivan Posted September 11, 2012 #10 Share Posted September 11, 2012 There will always be times available when you board. As was stated, only a limited percentage of reservations are available for pre booking. If you know what you want, it will be available as soon as you get on. Rare Turtles06 Posted September 11, 2012 #11 Share Posted September 11, 2012 We booked on board the Gem last October. Don't give up hope, and have a great trip! :) (I want to add, though, that Le Bistro was the far better dining experience.)
eiffeltower07 Posted September 11, 2012 #12 Share Posted September 11, 2012 We were also able to book on the ship. Just keep your eye out on the menu boards posted throughout the ship. The later time slots almost always had openings for Teppanyaki - around 9:30. We were able to get in a group of 4 after another group cancelled. Fine and Jim Dandy Posted September 11, 2012 #14 Share Posted September 11, 2012 If you are in a suite, the concierge should be able to get you in if you do it soon enough. Or if you are platinum, the concierge will be happy to assist you with your reservation.
Rare mitsugirly Posted September 11, 2012 #15 Share Posted September 11, 2012 We booked while on board for the night we wanted to go. (We booked earlier in the day for that night). I have noticed that Teppanyaki seems to be the only specialty restaurant on all of the cruises we've been on that seems to sell out before the others. Although, I have noticed there are always times available throughout the cruise. If it's something you have to do, I would book to stay on the safe side. :)

Rare mitsugirly Posted September 11, 2012 #17 Share Posted September 11, 2012 Is it possible to bring a 2 and 4 yr old to Teppenyaki? Of course. Our 3 year old went with us back in March. :)

Snowrose Posted September 11, 2012 #20 Share Posted September 11, 2012 When we went some years ago we got the MDR menus from the front desk when we came onboard. We looked the menus over and decided what day we didn't want to eat at the MDR, and immediately booked Teppanyaki without a problem an hour or so after embarkation. jdvmd Posted September 11, 2012 #21 Share Posted September 11, 2012 Something else to consider: On the Dawn at the end of July, we were able to book LUNCH at Teppanayki. Price was half of what it was for dinner. $12.50 a person. The menu is slightly different - no filet mignon but a different kind of steak that was extremely delicious. Can't remember what type. Still got the rice, veggies, soup, salad etc. We went on the first sea day and besides our family of three, there were two other young ladies who had just graduated from high school. Once Upon A Time Posted September 11, 2012 #22 Share Posted September 11, 2012 Just off the Jewel.. We booked reservations online, when I reconfirmed the day prior to our reserved date, they did not have us.. but no problem, we were booked at the time we had wanted.. The Teppanayki room had 4 large tables, each seating 8. Two were totally vacant and we had 2 seats open at our table.. Didn't seem to be a problem.. The chefs were very entertaining and our two grandchildren, 10 and 12, were served from the Adult menu and charged half price.

tilley22 Posted September 12, 2012 #24 Share Posted September 12, 2012 We were on the Spirit in June. There was no option to book in advance for us either. We ended up booking after we boarded for the first night no problem. It did fill up pretty quickly though and there is only one table of 8 and I think only 3 sittings so I wouldn't wait too long into the cruise to book it.
