Tinkers70 Posted September 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2012 Can anyone give me an idea of what kind of activities they do for 10 year olds? My son seems quite keen on going but has been asking me what will he be doing once he signs up. Any info would be appreciated :) Marion
Rare FionaMG Posted September 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2012 "Voyagers (Ages 9-11) How about a scavenger hunt with new friends from across the world? That's just the beginning for Voyagers, who enjoy programs including sports tournaments, talent shows, video game showdowns and much more." There's a bit more info in the "All about cruising" section on the RCI website, which is where this came from. Be sure to take your son along to the kids club meeting on the day you board. That's very important because it will give you and him an overview and is a first opportunity to meet his shipmates. The time and place will be in the Cruise Compass. RCI's Adventure Ocean programme is great and really helps kids have fun while parents get the chance to enjoy a bit of adult-only time.

They did a movie and team games, scavenger hunt ect. During the day the kids met at the pool for the most part. He liked it
tinabinab Posted September 18, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2012 Are the 9-11 yr olds allowed to check themselves out of the program?
villauk Posted September 18, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 18, 2012 Are the 9-11 yr olds allowed to check themselves out of the program? You have to sign the initial registration form which has a section for self signers. The AO staff will explain it to you on the first day when you enrol. Games such as gagaball, crazy tag, dodge ball, scavenger hunts, art and crafts, movie night etc.
tinabinab Posted September 18, 2012 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2012 Thanks! Are those activies still supervised by AO staff? I'll be cruising soon with a just turned 9 yr old and DO NOT want her wandering around the ship alone. Not new to cruising, just new to having a tween... :)

Not new to cruising, just new to having a tween... :) Inside AO they are supervised and during cookie time at the Windjammer etc. If I recall correctly, the only activity that they CAN do unsupervised is the scavenger hunt and that's the section on the form where the parent/guardian has to initial to agree to (obviously, you don't have to if you don't want to). Also, you don't have to let your 9yr old be a self signer either, the choice is yours ;). Just mention it to the staff when registering.
