Christmas Day

We will be in St Lucia on Christmas Day and wonder what to expect. The ship seems to be offering a range of excursions although I think we would prefer to visit a local beach for a few hours. Does anyone have any advice please?

Most tours and excursions will be open for business. The shopping and such in town and around the port will be closed. A few things in the port area itself may be open, but the craft markets, etc will be closed for the most part. Taxis will be available at the port area. the easiest beach to go to with services - restaurants, chair/umbrella rental, etc - is Reduit beach, about 25 minutes or so from the port and a $30US one way taxi ride. They will drop you at Spinnakers, a beachside restaurant/bar. You cna easily get chairs/umbrella, enjoy the beahc and watersports for hire, etc. Spinnakers is great for lunch, there are vendors on the beach/parking lot with beers and water and sodas or more elaborate drinks at Spinnakers, you can try any of the hotel restaurants/bars along the way - Bay Gardens Beach Resort, to the left of Spinnakers when looking at the restaurant (back to the sea) has a great bar and restaurant, fast food is available in walking distance, etc.

Enjoy your visit.
