I spoke with somebody from Carnival this evening and asked about the drink program I have been hearing about. It is in a trail run on the Breeze right now and it is $42 per person per day and everybody in the state room has to buy it. This person didn't know how long that it would be running as a trial or if it would stay at that price. It is good for any drink or beer $10 or less and if you choose one that is over $10 then you would get a 25% discount.

Th e Awesome Bar Program is now on only 3 ships... It was stopped on the Spirit as the ship went down to Australia, and I guess there were some rules from the australian govt they could not run the program as is. I used the program on the spirt out of seattle about 4 weeks ago, and it costs 42.00 per day plus 15% tip... total for two people 691.50... There was not any mention of a drink limit and the information sheet does not have any mention of a drink limit either.. I did here that some people on a different ship were told of a 15 drink limit, but it is not in the information they give you when buying it.. I thought it was a great program, and wish they would roll it out to other ships, but as of now they have not

I think we would purchase this if it was available. I wonder if it includes the mini-bar? Sometimes it's just nice to mix a cocktail in your room and enjoy it on the balcony without having to go and wait for the drink at a bar.

 

It does not include the mini-bar.

On the Splendor it is a 15 drink max and then they cut you off. that expierence was posted on one of the threads and a friends nephew just got off the Splendor and he was told that it was a 15 drink limit when he signed up. Celebrity has a similar program but it does include bottled water that you pick up at the bar or as you disembark but they have no limits. Since we are going on the Splendor in a month I checked my bar bill to see if I would run into problems. Way under 15 drinks a day most days and one day no drinks. However my first Sea Day and last Sea Day went over by one:p But I know most of that is half consumed beer around the pool. When its hot outside I can't drink it fast enough so about half way thru I would get a cold one plus we enjoyed sampling the different Martinis at the Martini bar because it was pre purchased if we didn't like a drink we didn't feel obligated to finish it. Overall I like the all inclusive portion of drink packages and until I checked to see if a limit was a problem it never concerned me whether I got my moneies worth the benefit is knowing what your expenses will be right from the start and the fun of expiermenting with different cocktails knowing if you hate it you don't need to feel guilty about spending 10 dollars and walking away...

Whatever you choose any day on a ship is better than a day at work

Yes I read that on his FB as well - also read that bottled water

was included but...

 

I also read that there is a lot of inconsistency regarding these

two issues so I am curious as to what is being said by PVPs,

TA's and, most importantly, at the bar themselves!

I did this on the Victory, and they said 15 drink limit, and it goes from 9a-9a. I didn't go over, but one guy i talked to said he got shut off. Not sure if he hit his limit, or if he was just really drunk.

 

I also said on my comment card that if they are selling this as unl, it should be unl, and let the bartenders determine if someone was too drunk.

The way I read the flyer, the 15 drinks is a reference point and you are "evaluated" and the bartender makes the determination if you are in shape to be served.

 

Below is the contents of the flyer...Im curious where you saw a reference to 15 drinks or an evaluation. The 15 drinks is something that the bar managers are telling people when they sign up for the program, but if you see it in the flyer, please help me out..

It sounds like to me that because it is a "trial program" that no one is real sure how it is supposed to be applied. Depending on which ship people were on, their experience was different. Mostly this seems to be with the 15 drink limit.

 

Maybe once this program gets going all the inconsistencies will get ironed out. I would definitely want to know for sure what I was getting into before purchasing this program.

Sorry! my old timers kicked in:o. I had flyer on the brain while reading the posts, iguess. I did read on J.H's blog that there was no 15 automatic shut off,BUT, there is a flag on the card so that after 15 drinks the bartender is alerted to evaluate the purchasers condition. Then they can cut you off. Sounds like it could open a whole new can of worms.

I edited that post for size, but it looks like my must-have-on-embarkation-day Funship Special in the plastic hurricane cup that costs less than $10 is not included in this program??:confused: Is that considered a "souvenier glass"? Does anyone know?

 

And no bottled water, or mini bar stuff, or room service. There sure are alot of restrictions.
