Hambagahle Posted October 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2012 Our Riviera cruise is getting closer and I am thinking about what to pack... and with a trans-Atlantic flight etc I am thinking hard about this!! So my question: On Regent when in a Butler suite the laundry sent out in the morning is almsot always back by the evening, with no additional charge (in fact no particular request!). Is this true with Oceania or do I need to allow for 48hr service? We are in an Oceania suite... in case that might make a difference!

On the R ships in an OS we always had our laundry back the same day.
sitraveler Posted October 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2012 Overnight laundry carries a 50% surcharge. The laundry is collected by housekeeping and returned the next AM. If you can arrange to have your luggage lost, O will provide the overnight service until your luggage does arrive.

Sometimes same day, almost always next morning. If you need something fast, tell your Butler, they have friends in the laundry business. ;) Even more importantly, they do a beautiful job. REALLY first rate. Better with pleats than my local place in Connecticut which charges three times the price.
sunlover12 Posted October 16, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 16, 2012 We were just on the Riviera last week and had some laundry service done. We were in a Penthouse Suite, gave it directly to our butler before 9AM and got it back at 6PM the next day. If you want it back faster than this there is a 50% express surcharge. To give you an idea of the price, it was $4.25 for men's dress shirts and polo shirts.
Rare ronrick1943 Posted October 16, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 16, 2012 True they do a great job. And yes their is a 50% up charge for same day, however sometimes it comes back the same day anyway, but without the 50% it's no guarantee. Also they have specials once in while that offer same day no additional charge. After a few cruise's on "O" now, we're packing less and using the service "O" offers, because it's really great. And less to pack........ Rick
San Jose King Posted October 16, 2012 #7 Share Posted October 16, 2012 The return speed of laundry is a function of how busy they are on the day you sent it out, There are no guarantees other than what they promise to do, and they do it extremely well. Sure the cost is high, but after you've spent a small fortune on a cruise , why worry about a few extra bucks?
Hambagahle Posted October 16, 2012 Author #8 Share Posted October 16, 2012 Thanks! Cost is far less than here anyway... It,s just a question of planning.... Seems that it operates like Regent.
