toeloop Posted October 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2012 Does anyone have a recommendation of a hotel in Brooklyn that will let you keep your car parked there while on your cruise?
138east Posted October 27, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2012 The closest park/sleep to Brookyn is the Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden on Staten Island. You have to pay for a car service to Red Hook but you can leave your car at these hotels for free for the duration of your cruise. It looks like you are leaving this week - are you looking for last minute hurricane plans?
toeloop Posted October 27, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted October 27, 2012 Yep. I wish princess would have mentioned that the port parking is in a flood zone earlier in the week. Guess they weren't thinking along those lines when they were planning the facility. Thanks for your recommendation.
138east Posted October 27, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 27, 2012 Price Village Car Service on Staten Island if you go that route. The main advantage is that you will be traveling within NYC and not going from NJ to NY.
Rare Got2Cruise Posted October 27, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 27, 2012 If you park in Staten Island, you need to cross the Verrazano Bridge into Brooklyn. If the winds go over 35mph the mayor announced the bridges will be closed. I'm not sure of the date of your travels, but Monday is the day they are saying the storm is going to hit NYC. Rare 1025cruise Posted October 27, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 27, 2012 Just to clarify, most Brooklyn hotels don't have parking to begin with, let alone cruise parking.
