Rare geoherb Posted November 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2012 Our local TV station did a great story about a couple spending thousands of dollars after getting a postcard promising them a free cruise: http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/video?id=8891453

Happy ks Posted November 20, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2012 I've never subjected myself to one of those high pressure sales pitches. Every person I've ever talked to about it always says the same thing, they keep talking to wear you down to close the deal. When I get postcards like that, they don't even make it into the house, it goes straight into the recycle bin along with the rest of the junk mail. chipq Posted November 20, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2012 My MIL was thrilled that she got a "free" cruise a couple years ago until she started reading all the small print. A couple hundred dollar processing fee (she paid) but the requirement that you have to book airfare through their travel group. Had she not wised up and cut her loses at a couple hundred, the airfare from their group was about three times the going rate. The old saying is so true: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. http://luv2cruise.blogspot.com
LuckyZ Posted November 20, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 20, 2012 If it is too good to be true it is not true. Keith OR If it's too good to be true, it usually is. I stand and live by these words.
