Rare trbarton Posted November 25, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2012 I'm cruising on the Maasdam next month in the Southern Caribbean and plan to use my I Pad as a night clock. Is there anyway to reset the clock without having an internet connection. I was on a Hawaii cruise, 5 days at sea, and the clock time stayed the same. RAYSAN11 Posted November 25, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 25, 2012 Go to settings, general, date and time and turn off the automatic updating of the time. This will open a box where you can set the date and time

EdmPair Posted November 27, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 27, 2012 I forgot to reset the automatic time for months after last cruise. Slowly, the iPad time drifted away from the cell phone time. Was 2 minutes apart and had me puzzled for a few months. Laughed when I realized why. So, I suggest you leave a todo item in the calendar to put the iPad back on automatic. KirkNC Posted November 27, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 27, 2012 We do the same (using it as an alarm clock).
estebofarr Posted November 27, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 27, 2012 Still learning about my i pad. How do you set the alarm? I didn't know I had one!
jackretired Posted November 27, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 27, 2012 You can set a reminder or an event in the calendar, with a notify. Or install a free app like https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/alarm-clock-hd-free/id476555713?mt=8 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

jackretired Posted November 28, 2012 #9 Share Posted November 28, 2012 I'm going to try that out tomorrow morning! Thanks! Please report back what you used and how it worked for you. If you use the app, you will need to plug your iPad in. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

If you want to change the timer sound you can do so in SETTINGS or choose the sound when you set the alarm. Hit here's lots to choose from. Chimes, tinkles, horns, and for the ultimate " I'm otta' here" there's the motorcycle. Works well at quitting time!
