Rare TheRampantSnail Posted November 25, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2012 Our last cruise with Regent was on the Voyager in 2009. I am pleased to say, after a brief flirtation with Azamara, we will be sailing on Voyager again in 2013. I would be very interested to know whether there are any noticeable changes we might encounter in 2013, compared to 2009. Do they still have the block parties, for instance? We will be in a G grade this time. Can we still order a couple of bottles of spirits for the cabin in this grade? If so, is there a list of what can be ordered and is it published anywhere on CC or elsewhere? Is Sierra Nevada beer still served on board? Many thanks in advance to anyone who feels able to share their thoughts on this topic.
Jeronimo Posted November 25, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 25, 2012 Block parties yes A couple of bottles yes. List no not published online just look in anyt of the bars or ask the steward. SN beer? Sorry don't know. The compulsory rehersal for evacuation is now more rigerous and happnes before you sail. One crazy crazy infuriating change is that La Veranda is now divided into two halves. Before you could pass from one side to the other at the aft end. Now you have to go either outside at the aft end or go all the way back to the lifts and outside is blocked off frequently due to winds etc. So you go in one side and find its full or they have no sausages or something and you have to go all the way round to get to the other side. Crazy. Interesting comment -- I don't even remember when you could walk from one side to the other on La Veranda. I thought the Mariner had the only "walk through". Anyway, below is the full bar list as of 5/2012. Looks like they still have your beer. We'll be on the Voyager December 1st and will update the list when we return:-) REGENT BAR LIST -- 05/2012 CHAMPAGNE AND SPARKING WINES BY THE GLASS Bellini Champagne Cocktail French 75 Kir Royale Mimosa Bouver Sparkling Montaudon Champagne Brut CHAMPAGNE BY THE BOTTLE Domaine mondois Brut non-vintage - $41.00 Tattinger "La Francaise" non vintage - $69.00 Veuve Clicquot "Yellow Label" non vintage - $69.00 deVenoge "Condon Bleu" non vintage $75.00 Brice Brut Rose non vintage - $88.00 Robert Moncuit "Grand Cuvee" 2003 $88.00 deVonoge LouiA XV 1995 - $194.00 Moet et chandon "Dom Perignon" 2000 - $199.00 Tattinger 'Comtes de Champagne" Blanc de Blanc 1998 -- $225.00 Louyis Roederer Cristal 2002 - $325.00 Armand de Brignac Rose 2002 - $499.00 Louis Roederer Cristal Rose 2009 $225.00 WINES BY THE GLASS Chardonnay Sauvignon Blanc Pinot Grigio Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Pinor Noir Shiraz APERTIFS Compari Dubonnet Pernod Pimms No. 1 SHERRY Dry Sack Harveys Bristol Cream Tio Pepe ALL THE MARY'S Bloody Mary - Vodka English Mary - Gin Mexican Mary - Tequila Norwegian Mary - Aquivit INTERNATIONAL BREWS Amstel Light becks Carlsberg Corona Grolsch Guinness Heineken Pilsner Unquell Savannah Cider NORTH AMERICAN BREWS Budweiser Budweiser Light Coors Light Miller Genuine Draft Miller Lite Samuel Adams Sierra Nevada ALCOHOL FREE BEERS Buckler O'Doul's Becks POOLSIDE CLASSICS Banada Daiquiri Peach Daiquiri Pina Colada Strawberry Daiquiri GRAPPA Grappa Sandro Bottega Grappa Boroto F illi Maroto - 11.00 Grappa Dolcetta F lli Marole - $11.00 Grappa Sassicai - $14 SAKE Ty Ku Sho Chiku Bai IRISH WHISKEY Bushmills Jamesons Middleton Very Rare $33.00 SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKEY Glenfiddish Glenlivit Glenmorangie Macallan Select Oak Cragganmore 12 years $11.00 Talisker 10 years - $11.00 The Balvenie "Doublewood" 10 years $11.00 The Balvenie "Doublewood" 12 years $11.00 Lagavulin 1989 - $13.00 Macallan Estate Reserve $19.00 Dalmore 12 year - $24.00 BLENDED SCOTCH WHISKEY Ballentines Chivas Regal Cutty Sark Dewar's White Lael Dimple Famous Grouse J & B Rare Johnnie Walker Black Label Johnnie Walker Red Label Johnnie Walker Green Label $11.00 Johnnie Walker Gold Label $21.00 Chivas Royal Salute $33.00 Johnnie Walker Blue label $44.00 COFFEE DRINKS Cafed Nelson - Baileys and Frangelico French Coffee - Cognac and Grand Marnier Gaelic Coffee -- Blended Scotch Whiskey Irish Cofrfee - Jameson Irish Whiskey Jamaican Coffee - Meyers and Tia Maria Mexican Coffee - Tequila and Kahlua LIQUEURS Amaretto Disaronno Apple Pucker Apricot Brandy B & B Baileys Irish Cream Blue Curacao Chambord Cherry Peter Heering Chocolate Godiva Liqueur Congtreau Creme de anane Creme de Cacao (Brown) Creme de Cacao (White) Creme de Cassis Creme de Menthe (Green) Creme de Menthe (White) Dramabui D O M Benedictine Frangelico Gialliano Grand Marnier Kahlua Limoncello Malibu Midori Peach Schnapps Peppermint Schnapps Sambuca Southern Comfort St. Germain Tia Maria Triple Sec Grand Marnier Cuvee de Centenaire $16.00 DIGESTIFS Fernet Branca Jaegermeister CALVADOS Baron de La ouque Morin Hors d'Age 15 years - $11.00 FAVORITES A Walk in the Tropics Bay Breeze Cape Cod Cuba Lilbra Greyhound Long Island Iced Tea Mai-tai Salty Dog Screwdriver Sea Breeze Sikngapore Sling Tequila Sunrise Zombie PRE-DINNER COCKTAILS Americano Gibson Kir Manhattan Margarita Negroni MARTINIS Alabama Martini Angel Martini Apple Martini Blondie Chocolate Martini Cosmopolidtan Laughing at the Waves Martini 1951 Vodka Martini Washington Apple Martini FIZZES Gin Fizz SOURS Brandy Sour Rum Sour Vodka Sour Whiskey Sour VODKA Absolute Absolut Citron Absolut Kurran Absolut Mandarin Belevedere Chopin Pinnacle French Vanilla Grey Goose Ketel One Smirnoff Stolichnaya Blue Ice Potato Vodka - 4$11.00 Ultimate Vodka -- $16.00 GIN Beefeater London Dry Bombay Sapphire Gordon's London dry Tangueray, Special Dry C'Vine - $16.00 RUM Bacardi Carta Blanca Captain Morgan Mount Cay Myer's Barcardi Limon Barcardi & Anos $9.00 Mount Cay Extra Old Rum $11.00 Pyrat XO Reserve $11.00 TEQUILA (their weak area) Jose Cuervo Gold Margaritaville Silver Don Julio Anejo - $11.00 Don Julio Reposado - $11.00 Patron Anego - $11.00 Patron Reposado - $11.00 Patgron Silver - $11.00 BOURBON Jack Daniels Jim Beam Maker's Mark Old Grand Dad Wild Turkey Blanton Single Barrel - $11.00 Knob Creek - $11.00 CANADIAN WHISKEY Canadian Club Crown Royal Seagram's Seven Seagram's VO VERMOUTH Martini Bianco Martini Dry Martini Rosso EAU DE VIE Framboise AQUAVIT Loiten's Lime AFTER DINNER COCKTAILS B52 Black Russian White Russian Brandy Alexander Golden Cadillac Golden Dream Grasshopper Old Fashioned Rusty Nail Sidecar Stinger ARMAGNAC Cies Des Ducs COGNAC Carrus V.S.O.P. This results in a very short, intense espresso. An acquired taste. ESPRESSO MACCHIATO An espresso with a dollop of milk foam on top AMERICANO Basicallh a single espresso topped up with hot water. However, you should still see the crema indicating that the espresso was correctly made. CAFE LATTE A single espresso topped up with steamed milk and a small amoumnt of milk foam to seal the drink. CAPPUCCINO A long espresso (2/3 of a cappuccino cup) made with hot milk (1/3) and milk foam (1/3).. We train our baristas to create a dome of foam. Steaming milk is quite an art. You will still see the 'crema" around the rim of the cup. MOCCHA This is identical to the cafe latte' but we add two heaped teaspoons of chocolate syrup to the coffee before adding milk to the blend. COFFEE VANILLA Made with a hearty shot of espresso combined with a dash of vanilla extract and spiced with black tea. LIQUEUR COFFEES IRISH COFFEE The first liqueur coffee was an Irish one. We prepare the irish coffee the same way as its originator Joe Sheridan: coffee mixed with brown sugar and fine whiskey, topped with fresh cream and served in an Irish coffee glass. COFFEE NELSON This is a delicious mix of Baileys, Frangelico and coffee topped with fresh cream and sprinkled with hazelnuts. FRENCH COFFEE French coffee is a combination of Cognac and Grand Marnier mixed with a good espresso and topped with French cream. RUSSIAN HOT CHOCOLATE (my note: this is amazing!) For our Russian chocolate we use delicious hot chocolate mixed with vodka and topped with fresh cream. COLD COFFEE DRINKS (The menu has an explanation about not using any pre-mixes or powders.........) ICED LATTE We use a single shot of espresso, ice cubes and milk. That's it! The secret is the espresso and a really good blender. 20 seconds of blending and you have a superb, refreshing coffee drink. ICED MOCCHA This is identical to the iced latte but we add two heaped taspoons of chocolate powder (hmmmm, they just said that they didn't use powder) to the coffee before adding milk and ice for an equally refrushing coffee drink. FRAPPE LATTE Our famous and most popular iced coffee drink. Espresso, milk, crushed ice and our special Frappe blend makes this a refreshing, creamy and smooth drink. Try it and find out why it has such a loyal following. VIENNESE COFFEE This traditional mixture of coffee, cream and chocolatge is rich and decadent...perfect for a lazy vacation morning or an afternoon treat. Not for dieters, this special drink is a wonderful way to relax and indulge y ourself. Wendy The Wanderer Posted November 25, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 25, 2012 I don't remember being able to walk between the different sides of La Veranda as well. For breakfast and lunch, that's where the buffet is. And for dinner, only one side is open. I doubt you'll see much difference. Prime 7 may be new to you; I like it. Sierra Nevada was available on our Navigator cruise this spring. We haven't bothered much with the liquor setup since the ships went all-inclusive for alcohol, but you can get what you like--I usually choose a bottle of wine, which I rarely drink. Spa is no longer Carita, but Canyon Ranch. Pricier, with gratuities included.
Rare RachelG Posted November 25, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 25, 2012 I don't ever remember a time when you could walk from one side of La Veranda on the voyager to the other. I think you are perhaps confusing with mariner
Travel2Learn Posted November 25, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 25, 2012 In La Veranda, if one side is out of something you want, simply ask for it.
Jeronimo Posted December 12, 2012 #8 Share Posted December 12, 2012 Sorry Must be my mistake, I guess it was on the Mariner, that you could walk from one side to the other. Would be a brilliant change to make toVoyager!!
busdriver475 Posted December 13, 2012 #9 Share Posted December 13, 2012 Navigator is the one that is in one room and able to walk across. Voyager and Mariner are split. Jim:):)
Travelcat2 Posted December 13, 2012 #10 Share Posted December 13, 2012 We are on the Voyager at the moment and the only way to walk from one side to the other is to displace the crew members who are preparing omelettes or pasta. The Mariner definitely has easy access from one side to the other. Not sure what the Navigator has other than a space that is to small:confused:
