Cruising89143 Posted November 30, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2012 I know that she is no longer an RCI ship but she is still in the RCCL family. Many of us cruised on this ship before she was transferred over to sister line Pullmantur. I really like the new look. She just came out of dry dock. Icruzthere4Iam Posted November 30, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2012 I blame her for my current cruise addiction!! :D Those are great pics and it's good to see her. Thanks!
KeywestK Posted November 30, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2012 Our very first cruise was on Sovereign OTS in 1994, and that was the beginning of my love affair with cruising. When we were in Barcelona last year, I saw the Sovereign in port and brought back all those memories of our very first cruise. It's nice to see her looking so beautiful. Tyler80 Posted November 30, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2012 Sovereign looks awesome! Kind of makes me wish Royal Caribbean's ships had more color on the hull.
SMASHROX Posted November 30, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2012 Yes, there she is...the one responsible for my cruise addiction. She, too, was my first back in 2001.
bigque Posted November 30, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 30, 2012 That looks much better than that Red & White Color Scheme they had! Sovereign was my first cruise!

The Grumpus Posted November 30, 2012 #8 Share Posted November 30, 2012 I like the new look as well. She got me hooked on cruising too - Dec. 1992. She was largest cruise ship on the high-seas back then. Glad RCI didn't require the VCL to be removed.
Pomperaugrr Posted November 30, 2012 #9 Share Posted November 30, 2012 I remember cruising past her while leaving Miami on the Carnival Holiday, many years ago. The Sovereign looked huge compared to the Holiday! I always wanted to try RCI after seeing how beautiful the Sovereign looked, especially with the VCL. Of course, once I started cruising RCI, I never looked back... Eric

CRUISINGCPA Posted November 30, 2012 #11 Share Posted November 30, 2012 Sovereign was my kids' first cruise in 2002 & was responsible for their addiction & many wonderful cruise vacations since then. She was also my mom's first many years before that when Sovereign was still doing 7 day cruises. So glad to see she is well & still cruising! leaveitallbehind Posted November 30, 2012 #13 Share Posted November 30, 2012 Sovereign was also our first cruise in 1992. Great ship - glad to see her still on the water.

kruzerci Posted November 30, 2012 #15 Share Posted November 30, 2012 If those are photoshopped, she looks the same as the pictures. http://noticiasdecruceros.com.ar/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/15217_513133812039100_1733335108_n-590x442.jpg

Aquahound Posted November 30, 2012 #18 Share Posted November 30, 2012 They are photos from Pullmantur. Photoshopped or not it shows off her new look. Yea, I can see some ovbvious editing, but regardless, the new look is great. Looks a lot better than the red scheme they had. Any pictures of interior changes? ryano Posted November 30, 2012 #19 Share Posted November 30, 2012 She looks great. I like the dark blue. The inevitable rust wont show up as bad either.
loubetti Posted November 30, 2012 #20 Share Posted November 30, 2012 While I love the look.... Is it me, or do the pictures look poorly photoshopped? It is you! If it is Photoshopped, it is a great job! I've spent 15 years using the application to make $$$$$ with. Otherwise I like the look, especially the hull color- well, everything about it! Never sailed on her, but she was a trend-setting ship when launched. Relatively speaking even today, neither old or small. A real classic!

Looks a lot better than the red scheme they had. Any pictures of interior changes? Don't have any of her interior but I don't think she had a new interior updates during this dry dock. This video shot a couple of months ago shows that she kept a lot of the interiors from RCI.
Pumbaamd Posted December 1, 2012 #22 Share Posted December 1, 2012 Will she ever come back to the Caribbean so we here in the states could sail her again? Kevdog71 Posted December 1, 2012 #25 Share Posted December 1, 2012 Sailed on SoS when she was brand new in '88 and I remember what game changer she was in the cruising world with her size and the Centrum. It was an amazing experience. Love the blue hull!
