gambee Posted January 6, 2013 #26 Share Posted January 6, 2013 About $550, but prepaid $340 on other stuff and a $150-200 in cash for tips.
Rare mac_tlc Posted January 6, 2013 #27 Share Posted January 6, 2013 It's a game and you should learn how to play it (that is...OBC/perks from RCCI and your travel agent). ........ Don't get sucked in to Bingo, the casino or the shops, and limit yourself to a couple drinks in the evening and take advantage of the drink prices in the port. But I'm on vacation .... Not sure I like this game. :) Our highest was on our 12-night European cruise -- probably around $2000. For 4. mac_tlc
crookedhalo Posted January 6, 2013 #28 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Our highest was our first RCCL cruise and was around $1800 for a 9 night cruise - BUT there were four of us and it included tips for all and a bit of casino money;). Our last one was $1000 for a 10 night cruise - BUT had prepaid most excursions, tips, soda package, water package, photo package and had brought cash for the casino:p. PLUS there were only two of us this trip - budgeted about $75/day for bar bill and was pretty darn close, so while it looks like less it was a lot more!:D (oh yeah, forgot to add that we had a small OBC and I put $700 in cash down at beginning of cruise, so only $300 went to my card;)). But like the others, it's my vacation and I don't like to worry about my spending - I'll deal with it later:cool:.
sailawayjack Posted January 6, 2013 #29 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Dear friends, Just to be curious, what has been your highest bill on your cruise? We did a good job and our joint bill came up to 1100 usd.:eek: But our excuse is "we arefrom Finland". :D  Not highest total for a cruise, but maybe the highest for one round of drinks. After seeing the movie Cocktail with Tom Cruise, I was curious as to why someone would pay $1200 or so for a bottle of Louis III Cognac. On a Bermuda cruise, we met a NY Policeman and his wife, just after 9-ll. Went into casino and won about $500 one night. Next day, purchased 3 Cuban Cohibas for myself, my friend Tom, and this policeman. After dinner, we went into Champagne Bar, I ordered three double shots of Louis XIII ($75 per shot) and the three of us smoked those great cigars, dipping them in the cognac. Now sure if it was worth $75 a shot or not, but it sure was that night.:cool:JACK IS SAILING AGAIN
Candleonwater Posted January 6, 2013 #30 Share Posted January 6, 2013 First cruise, it was $2800 for 2 of us. Insane! Now I can usually get away with about $600 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
NovCruisin Posted January 6, 2013 #31 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Our highest was $2,700 for an 8 night cruise (on Celebrity). Which included the premium alcohol package for both DH and I, 6 massages (3 for me and 3 for DH), three specialty restaurants, one shore excursion and the rest in the casino!! Heidils Posted January 6, 2013 #33 Share Posted January 6, 2013 About $1250 that was for drinks, two massages, and tips on a 10 day trip. $750 of it was covered by OBC's. Now throw in parking (around $200) and the dog sitter... The hits just keep on playing! Ha Ha...well worth it! We had a great time.
reney313 Posted January 6, 2013 #34 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Our bill is typically around $1200-$1500 for a 7 night. I think the largest on a 7 night was approx. $1600. No excursions, no spa, no casino, no shop purchases. Primarily all alcohol although it did include gratuities. I think it was more that sailing because my parents were onboard so we were buying them drinks AND it was my SO's birthday. He felt he deserved more expensive drinks that week (and more of them, LOL). My highest, with a friend, was a 3 day cruise that totaled $1800. He started having shot "wars" with the other hot tubs...one round of shots were around $200 each and I think he bought 4 rounds! it was truly priceless when an older woman around 80 in our hot tub bought a round of peach schnapps for everyone in our hot tub so we could "beat" the # of rounds from the other hot tubs. Oh..and years ago on a 4 night cruise, I think we had a bill of over $3000 but we had a group of 8 bartenders that we took as an employee benefit and paid for several of their drinks...that doesn't count though because it wasn't just the 2 of us. Oh...and my very first cruise, when I was 19 I was with my 3 sisters and dad/his wife at the time. We were all on my dad's sea pass. I think that bill was over $4000. My oldest step sister bought a few bottles of Dom Perignon for our new "friends" as well as many shots for everyone we met in the bars (not to mention me and my other step sister were both under 21 and could drink "legally"...and back then we could drink anything not just wine and beer). It took my dad from 1991 until 2012 to take another cruise because of that onboard account!
stones902 Posted January 6, 2013 #35 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Probably a little over $2000. Purchased a watch on board but no excursions or gambling. The remainder was drinks.

eldolko Posted January 6, 2013 #37 Share Posted January 6, 2013 $1,236.26. Some excursions and two dinners with wine pairing at 150 Central Park. Heidils Posted January 6, 2013 #41 Share Posted January 6, 2013 I'm a relative newbie to cruising. What is the 'secret' to getting sooo much $$$ in OBC as some of you have mentioned? TIA:) If you book through a travel agent they will often times offer you OBC's to get your booking. Also if you sign up for the Visa card offered through RCCL and Bank of America, they give you a point for every dollar you spend through them. Two points for every dollar you spend with Royal. They also have other promotions that help build your balance.

sailingawaysoon Posted January 6, 2013 #46 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Our highest was $3,900. No excursions, but drinks and casino! I hate waking up and seeing that bill just before leaving the ship!
dcdiva Posted January 6, 2013 #47 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Our record was $3,700 for a 6 night cruise. But it was certainly an exception. It was our wedding cruise and included our wedding photos, champagne for 60 guests on formal night, and an unexpected ship to shore call for a family emergency (that turned out not to be an emergency at all.) It could have been worse, but our guests bought us lots of drinks and we received at least a dozen bottles of champagne in our cabin. In the end it felt like it was a bargain, since we also walked off the ship with $1,600 cash in casino winnings.
whyrlygig Posted January 6, 2013 #48 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Our biggest was $800ish. Never have has a small one. We usually figure on $100-$125 per day. Most is for cocktails, a little shopping and maybe a dinner a chops.
