lovecruzin Posted January 8, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2013 Apologies... I'm sure it has been asked and I just can't find it! Can we change to select dining once we are on board?
Northern Aurora Posted January 8, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2013 On a cruise about two years ago the Celebrity Today had an announcement that select dining wasn't full and there were some openings, but my impression is that the select option generally fills quickly. For example, we were on the Century last October, and were in select dining. The first night we were in line to be seated and a couple in front of us were asking about the possibility of switching from traditional to select, and were told that there were no openings in select. If someone is in traditional dining and wants to switch to select, be sure to find the maitre 'd as soon as possible after boarding.
lovecruzin Posted January 8, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted January 8, 2013 Thanks for the reply! We will also be on Century and had hoped to use our rather large OBC for gratuities but I'm sure we'll find another way to spend the money :D
Rare cruisestitch Posted January 8, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2013 Any unused OBC can be withdrawn in cash from the casino for a 5% fee. Never leave OBC behind!
sddsddean Posted January 8, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 8, 2013 As NA says, it can be tricky. We changed on the Infinity in March (nothing to do with service or anything...just getting out of 2nd sitting at 1030 pm was too late!) and it took input from our Asst Maitre d', the Maitre d' and the Captains Club hostess to do it...and 2 days! You won't regret the change, but try your TA or send emails to/phone Celeb to get it done before if you can, otherwise as said, be first in line for the maitre d' on boarding day! lovecruzin Posted January 8, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted January 8, 2013 We have always done traditional late dining or Blu on X...as we get older late is too late! I will call our TA today... And cruisestitch - we would never even consider leaving behind free money!
