Oceans100 Posted March 13, 2017 #2226 Share Posted March 13, 2017 This cheers card confuses me more and more everyday.....somewhere in another post it sounded like specialty coffees, milkshakes, sodas does count towards 15? Also.....I had read that if you order a double shot in a drink it counts as 2 against your limit......however earlier on Carnival it made it sound like if you order a drink with a floater as some drinks on the menus suggest then one drink goes towards limit and the floater is paid separately or on S&S? So confusing.... Sent from my iPhone using Forums

LadyBeBop Posted March 13, 2017 #2228 Share Posted March 13, 2017 I do have a question. Is this allowed? MDR. Bar waiter comes to take drink order right after we sit down. I order a Coke to drink immediately. At the same time, I order a glass of wine to come with the main course. I don't want both drinks at the same time. Yet I want a pop to sip throughout the meal and a glass of wine with my entree.

Then as soon we sat down, we would order the next drinks. :)

Most likely what will happen because the waiters are putting multiple orders in is he will pour your glass of wine and run your S&S card, Then pour your soda (pop) 5 min later. By the time the waiter comes back he/she will give you both at the same time. You could always just order the wine or soda on your way into the MDR and then order when you sit down. LadyBeBop Posted March 13, 2017 #2232 Share Posted March 13, 2017 Thanks for your responses. :) I usually have an unfinished already as I enter the dining room. I guess, right before leaving the bar, get a pop. But I would feel funny taking two drinks into the dining room.

mamajules Posted April 2, 2017 #2238 Share Posted April 2, 2017 A couple things. Last October on Conquest I would order a drink and a soda or a bottle of water and were given them both, different bars multiple times. Now after that you have to wait 5 minutes. The " drinks at gangway" I believe they are talking about the large bottles of water they offer as you debark at ports. Sorry, I don't think this is correct. As far as I know, the 5-minute restriction on Cheers drink purchases applies to alcoholic beverages only, so the soda would not be a problem at all. On Conquest last year, our table waiter in the MDR brought us bottles of water and sparkling water (as well as alcoholic drinks, and sodas for me) as soon as he realized we had Cheers...sometimes a few at once to share at the table with our friends. That wait crew was so good we asked for them and the same 8-top table every night. Couldn't always get them, but they were terrific when we did. mvjcruise Posted April 2, 2017 #2241 Share Posted April 2, 2017 the 5 minute rule is for alcoholic AND non alcoholic drinks . That was not our experience. Every bartender on our last Carnival cruise allowed us to get one alcoholic drink and one non-alcoholic drink at the same time, and they rang them up at the same time on one Sail and Sign card. They could not do 2 alcoholic drinks at the same time, however.

kellbellscruise Posted April 2, 2017 #2243 Share Posted April 2, 2017 Hello cheers experts. My entire family is going on a cruise including my parents who are in their mid to late 70's. All of us are buying the cheers package as it will save most of about half of what we would normally spend. My question is about my parents only. We all have cove balconys as this is our preferred room type, but also because it is my parents first cruise and did not want a lot of motion in case of sea sickness. Y father has had knee replace surgery in the last 6 months and gets along fine... But he is wanting to have a few beers in a bucket on his own balcony... Is this something he will be able to do?? They will not be able to go back and forth for every beer in their room. If this may be an issue then I may have them cancel the cheers .. I hope this makes sense. It's not about the cost or number of drinks..but their mobility... Thanks for any help!!

'MOST" of the time they will give you the beers unopened if you ask but its against the rules so there is no guarantee. 'IF' they give it to you unopened you can get one beer and wait 5 minutes and get another until he has 5 and then bring them to the room. also i think you can preorder some beer to be in the room that has nothing to do with the cheers program and you can use that in the room. other than that , I dont think there are any other options

You can order bucket of beer from room service also, BUT it will not go against your Cheers you have to pay for them. Buckets of beer are not covered anywhere under the Cheers program

Ordering a double shot would be considered ordering two drinks, therefore, you cannot order a double shot. Program allows for unlimited Zero-Proof beverages but only one beverage at a time may be ordered - sharing is not permitted. There is a 5 minute wait time between ordering drinks. Consider yourself lucky if you get 2 at a time Edited April 3, 2017 by Vipertrek

I got mine at the casino bar. It was a sea day and the special ended at noon. I ordered a Bloody Mary with grey goose. Bartender told me about the double shot special with belvedere. I told him I was on cheers. He told me it was covered. I asked if it counted as two drinks. He said no...so I got it...and I went to the same bartender before noon to get another. :D
