Applesauce?

My son takes pills daily and is not yet able to swallow them whole. He takes them in apple sauce.

 

Will we be able to bring applesauce on board? If not, is there anyplace on board to find applesauce?

Yes, you can bring applesauce aboard.

 

We are permitted to bring food onto the ship but not off in most cases.

 

The indvidual cups of applesauce don't require refrigeration so they might be best.

I have also had my problems with popping pills, and was able to get applesauce in the Lido every morning.

I had to make a special request, and someone searched it out for me. I let them know it was going to be a daily routine, and they kept some stock on hand and had it waiting for me when I came in.

It became a game for one of the cooks---when he saw me coming, could he get it ready before I got to him?

The Ryndam will have applesauce.

I don't know what cabin category you are in -- but if you want to keep it cold whether you bring your own or get it from the Lido -- you may have to rent a refrigerator.

Only the balcony and verandah cabins have mini refrigerators.

Thanks for the replies! We're driving to the port so we'll just throw some individual apple sauces into the car with us.

Applesauce (appelmoes) is considered to be (also) something typical from Holland, so I would be surprised if this is not readily available on board Holland America ships. You may have to ask for is, but I think they get far stranger requests.

Just in case - remembering my youth.

 

Mom used to take a pill I couldn't swallow in a spoon, put another spoon on top, and crushed them by squishing them. Then, a dollop of jelly on top of the crushed stuff and I'd swallow it all down.

 

As I said, just in case......
