Darcys mom Posted March 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2013 We are doing a partial transit of the Panama Canal on the Island Princess leaving on April 15, 2013. Does the ship's time correspond to the islands' time, or does it stay on Eastern Daylight Savings Time? We don't want to miss our excursions. Michellervt Posted March 29, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2013 Just got off the Coral on a partial transit. The room steward will put a card on your bed each night that there is a time change, telling you to go back or forward. I believe we went back 1 hour between Aruba and Cartagena, then back another hour between Panama and Costa Rica. Leaving CR we went forward an hour and then forward again after Grand Cayman. Don't quote me, but I remember there were 4 time changes.

You'll have plenty of warning as a notice will be in the Princess Patter the day before and your steward will place a card on your pillow the night of the time change when (s)he makes up the cabin for the night. ED49404 Posted March 29, 2013 #8 Share Posted March 29, 2013 While on the Island Princess last March I found setting my watch with the time on the phone in the cabin worked great.
