We tried that once and all they brought up was a croissant not a pastry even though that is what we had requested and this was like 6:30am :(.

Another problem we had was going down to breakfast at 9:00 am (we are late risers normally) but the buffet is still supposed to be open, many stations did not have any food left and what was left at other stations was cold. Plus, most of the stations did not even have anyone manning them if you wanted to ask a question or ask for something when the bin was completely empty. I felt like Celebrity really fell down on this. I suppose if we showed up for breakfast at 7:00 everything would have been full but of course then you would have to stand in line with the crowd. The point is the buffet is open at 9:00 am for breakfast and it should be completely full of all offerings at that hour just as it is at 7:00 am. As you can see, I was not pleased with the breakfast buffet.

I think you must of just experienced bad timing. Believe me I am never at breakfast before 9:00am and I have never noticed this. I assume you walked around to look? The Millennium has multiple stations that serve the same stuff.

Gambee--what a great review--thanks.

gambee's review is excellent and probably very helpful to someone that has never cruised on an S Class ship. I have been on an S class, so reading through many pages did tax my patience.

However, if gambee's review of the ports is as good as the first part, it will be worth waiting for.

I think if any review was "taxing my patience" I would quit reading it.

I have also sailed on an S-Class ship and am thoroughly enjoying Gambee's review + photos. Keep up the great work, Gambee! :)

Hi Lynda, you're on our roll call. I'm not kidding... there were NO pastries at the buffet when we went to breakfast on the Millennnium last June - not at 9:00 when we were there and not a single day. We would walk around the entire buffet looking for them. We could see where they were supposed to be but they were all gone and there was no ship personnel to ask about them present. That was very disappointing because I'm a big pastry lover. There were plenty of scrambled eggs and bacon and sausage. However, the scrambled eggs were never done even those which we ordered per room service. That's one of the items I wrote about on the card at the end of the cruise. The breakfast buffet was one of the poorest areas on the otherwise wonderful cruise. Also, the men who did man it were either surly or completely absent.

Gambee, I am not usually at a loss for words but....WOW.

Reading this review is just incredible. What a charming person you are, and how generous to write this fabulous, entertaining, informative BOOK about your cruise!

As someone else said, man, I really need to crank it up about 50 notches when I write reviews! It almost feels like we're sailing along with you!

Congratulations on entertaining so many people who are hanging on to each installment, including me! :D

Deleted - I was in the habit of not reading the banter that wasn't Gambee's review, and one comment struck me as quite abrasive. As I continued to read, I see it was addressed (and addressed). So, back to silent reading for me.

Gambee - Thank you for the distinctive font. It is helping me read your review and not the well-deserved accolades from your legion of fans.

That sounds horrible. I would definitely have been complaining. I never get the scrambled eggs out of the chafing dishes--always have them make them special for me at the egg station. I meant to suggest that to Gambee for the future too.

Wow, Gambee, you are posting faster than I can keep up with! And yet I still can't wait to read the next installment!

And seriously, this review is making me more excited for our cruise at the end of the month than anything else yet! I look at all your photos, and I keep thinking, "Dang it, I CAN'T WAIT ANYMORE! I WANT TO GET ON OUR CRUISE!!!!!" I am so antsy and jittery, and can't concentrate on ANYTHING else these days but the cruise coming up!!

I will answer the comments tomorrow, I just want to get another set done today first.

After some time in the solarium we decided to go to the chains sale, they were holding a sale in front of the casino in the shops. My aunt had asked us to get her the chain with the colored pebbles in it, she had originally bought a set for her self on an X cruise, but she somehow misplace it and needed them replaced.

Let me tell you something, this is an absolute rip off, we got two and 1/4 inches of this and it was something like $13, I could not believe it. That is not even real gold, I believe they called it plated gold, but in any case we got what we needed and payed for it.

They also had this huge bottles.

This statue is in front of the casino, there are actually two of them. They were pretty neat!

DSC02234_zps5ec66627.jpg

We kept on walking to head up to our room to drop off those links so we would not loose them somewhere.

DSC02238_zpsf8cf4722.jpg

After we dropped of those links, we went back up to the solarium to get some drinks.

When the weather started declining we decided to head just outside of the Solarium to try to get some fresh ocean breeze.

DSC02251_zps2866423b.jpg

This picture was taken while I was waiting for our drinks. The pool bar is usually very busy and it is not uncommon to wait 15-20 minutes for service. It really did not bother me that much, I usually find someone and chat with them while I wait.

DSC02252_zps10bf8e00.jpg

I ordered an Apple Asian and a citrus mojito, both drinks were pretty good.

DSC02255_zps6024db69.jpg

You can see how the weather started moving in, we just sat there and enjoyed our drinks with a great view. By now the ship was rolling a little bit more, but nothing horrible. I was chilling there listening to some tunes and mom sat there and people watched, most folks were running away from the rain.

DSC02257_zps720b910e.jpg

Then it started raining and that my friends was the last time we saw the sun in a longgggggg time.

Here is a short video by the pool with the rain coming down.

A few minutes later I had finished my drink and I went get another one.

This time I went for a raspberry lemonade, it was a bit sour for my taste. But the nice thing was that they made it with real raspberries and that alone sold me on the drink :D

DSC02264_zps9baa39e0.jpg

We just sat there and watched the rain come down, most people started leaving to get changed I assume, while others just chilled in the covered areas. It was still pretty warm so it was really nice and cozy if you were dry.

Soon enough we had both finished our drinks and I went to get two more.

Bloody mary, spicy as hell! And ohhhhhhh so very tasty!

DSC02266_zps66d5e04d.jpg

And my old time classic a long island Ice tea!

DSC02265_zpsa98916a6.jpg

After some time up there we started getting hungry, so we decided to go get changed and look for some food. I did not wanted to go the buffet, I wanted something a little more personal. I had read plenty about the Bistro on 5 and we decided to give it a try.

On the way down.

Back inside a room I documented location and wind speed. The wind was starting to slowly pick up and it would not slow down until day 6 of the cruise.

Here is a short video of what the weather looked like.

On the way to bistro, they had some ping pong event at quasar. Quasar and celebrity central were a usual place were activities took place. The help a few game shows and art auctions there as well.

DSC02284_zpsf88f743f.jpg

At that time they had some dancing classes going on right outside of quasar in Celebrity Central.

We quickly changed and headed down to Bistro on Five,

We walked by the casino.

DSC02289_zps931521e8.jpg

I love that picture, is right by the shops and the casino.

DSC02288_zps8f200a5e.jpg

When we got there it looked like the restaurant was about 1/3 full, but some cruisers seemed to be upset. I immediately knew why, they were waiting for their food and from the looks of it seemed to be for a long time.

Either way I waited to be seated, soon enough I was approached by the server and was told that there was a wait. It seemed like they were understaffed, I said ok, how long and he really did not have an answer. We waited there for some time and eventually I left slightly frustrated. I figure that on a sea day they would staff this venue a little better. But I guess it just wasen't meant for us that day.

I still got some pictures from the menu.

Mistake of the day #2, Gambee ordered mozzarella sticks, for those of you who don't know I lactose intolerant. At the time I did not have the enzymes, but I said WTH, I will be fine. here is the thing sometime if I small amounts I am ok, but if the cheese is heavy… well… you can only imagine. And oh boy, were these tasty things heavy :-/...

Mom ordered shrimp scampy, it was great sooooo tasty and hot. Mistake #3 I ate some of it, more creme, more lactose intolerance, I think you're getting the idea by now. :-/

DSC02309_zps1b09c816.jpg

And I got the duck, OMG!!!!!!! IT WAS SOOOOOOO GOOD AND TENDER! It came with some papaya and a vinagrete. I am usually not crazy about anything with vinegar, but this duck was just incredible. I enjoyed it very veyr much!

DSC02311_zpsaa639dd2.jpg

We decided to skip dessert and go to the gelato store and try some of their ice cream. Overall the food was amazing, I could not believe the quality of the food in the MDR, I heard so many bad things about it and overall our experience was phenomenal! The service was great also, very prompt and effective. We could not had been happier with this experience, I guess it was a good thing that we skipped Bistro that day.

This is at the gelato store

We got two rum raisin small scoops for the cost of $6.90, was it tasty? yes. Was worth it? Hell no, while not the same quality as the free one upstairs, it was just not worth it for 7 bucks. I much rather eat the free one upstairs. I originally wanted to try the spaghetti gelato, but they did not have it.

DSC02321_zpse194ce64.jpg

I also got a mocha to go with it =), gotta love the little things in life, right?

We sat there for a little while and enjoyed our ice cream and coffee.

The chairs are very comfy, I could of stayed there for hours.

DSC02326_zpsb9ca525f.jpg

They had really nice glassware (is that what it's called?)

DSC02329_zps2d79bfa0.jpg

After dessert and coffee we went up to the room to change into our bathing suits to head to the pool area.

I took a few pics of the hideaway on the way there.

DSC02335_zpse64eece0.jpg

Mistake #4, while in the room waiting for mom to get changed I had a scotch. I never drink that, I believe that also helped into getting sicks. Also not to mention all the drinking from then on and the mixing of different liquors.

Hi Gambee

My wife Liz is lactose intolerant and loves X menus w. lactose free symbol for some dishes.

Tom:)

The thing is that I am intolerant, but I love cheese and creme. I rather deal with the pain and enjoy the food. But that day was one of those days that it all backfired on me :D
