hunt182644 Posted April 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2013 Looking at cruise to Hawaii Feb. 2014. Am aware of the hotel situation in San Pedro. Thinking about booking an overnight stay before cruise in Long Beach. Would need a hotel that allows parking for the cruise period. Seeing as how port parking is so expensive we would drive in the day before. Would appreciate any help on this, also shuttle or cab info to port
sassyredhat Posted April 4, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2013 If you want to stay in LB, the Maya is near the pier and has parking. I think it's only a bit less than the cruise ship parking. We stayed at a hotel near the aquarium museum in LB. Can't remember the name. I want to say Embassy or Hilton, but we drove to the cruise ship parking and left the car there.. The San Pedro board has alot of info. Pat
poncho1965 Posted April 4, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2013 We stayed at Crown Plaza. They have a park and sail package for $195. The Hotel is only a few blocks from the cruise port. They have free shuttles that will take you to the port, and back from the ship to pick up your car. I believe we had two breakfast vouchers along with two cocktails. Not a bad deal! This is in San Pedro though....

It has complimentary parking in a safe, well lit lot. We parked there for a 19-day cruise. It is a very nice hotel, and we have stayed there several times. We usually book the senior rate; no need to book a package.
fabby50 Posted April 4, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 4, 2013 The port itself has covered/parking structure parking. If you want a little maritime history to go along with your trip, stay at the Queen Mary. Come in a day early, take a few tours, have dinner at Churchill's on the ship or if leaving on a Sunday, take part in the fantastic brunch. You can tour the Russian submarine. You can watch your ship come in and you're right there to board. We do this every time we sail from San Pedro.
denmarks Posted April 4, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 4, 2013 Almost every major hotel has a parking package. It may seem expensive but it is much lower than parking at the port. Most people stay at the Crowne Plaza or the Doubletree. The Crowne Plaza is downtown near the pier while the Doubletree is far south and probably not within walking distance of anything. Dame Delilah Posted April 4, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 4, 2013 We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for one night and were able to use their stay and park plan. Left the car for 2 weeks and we really liked that it was covered parking.

sassyredhat Posted April 5, 2013 #9 Share Posted April 5, 2013 We stayed at the Crown Plaza in SP too, but I thought they wanted a hotel in Long Beach. I only know of two. Pat
Sea Hag Posted April 5, 2013 #10 Share Posted April 5, 2013 We like the Doubletree. Nice rooms, free parking while on your cruise, free shuttle to and from the ship, and hot chocolate chip cookies on check in. Okay, it's really all about the chocolate chip cookies, but the other things are nice too.
