BlueEyesMI Posted April 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2013 Hello! I'm a first time cruiser and have loved reading all these boards - thanks to everyone who posts. I know the rule about bringing your own water and soda (and wine) on board, but my question is if you bring your own soda can you bring it to the dining room for dinner? Is there a "pop the tab fee" ;) or is it not considered the polite thing to do? Thanks!
Cruising Golfer Posted April 21, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2013 Bring it in a glass and no one will care. Just have fun and enjoy... C.G.

paul929207 Posted April 21, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2013 Personally, I think it would be tacky, but am not aware of any rule against it.
MCC retired Posted April 21, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 21, 2013 Probably no rules against it , but tacky for sure .
Slopfrog Posted April 21, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 21, 2013 As I've said before, th soda package is the best extra money I spend on the boat. The free drinks like the punch and lemonade are so watered down they are undrinkable. I don't drink a whole lot of soda, but my girlfriend does. Usually I get the soda package for her and then I'll drink some out of her mug while we are around the ship. At dinner, I just drink water while she gets unlimited refills of soda. navybankerteacher Posted April 21, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 21, 2013 Bringing a drink in a glass to the table should be all right; many who have stopped for a pre-dinner drink will bring whatever they might not have finished to the table with them. Bringing a can of soda and popping the top at the table does seem a bit cheesy
BlueEyesMI Posted April 21, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted April 21, 2013 Thanks - I was leaning on the tacky side of this, but thought I'd ask the experts. Sounds like we could walk around the ship with one just fine when we are out relaxing though.
