Wine-O Posted April 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2013 Which would you choose for a cruise to Bermuda? Laura Flip a coin. Summit can dock on either side. I asked the Captain which side, and he told me it all depends on ship maintenance. If he has to do maintenance on boats & davits on the port side, he will dock on the starboard side so he can lower those boats into the water. If you luck out and get a side with view of the Dockyards or view of the harbor, both will be enjoyable.
jcrandle Posted April 24, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2013 Another consideration is possible cigarette smoke from smoking areas. If you are looking at a veranda cabin aft of midships, on most Celebrity ships a smoking area is on deck 5 or 6 on the port side. Depending on your tolerance and prevailing wind it might affect your enjoyment of your balcony.
Rare Keith1010 Posted April 24, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 24, 2013 My focus would be on the location of the room on the deck not what side it is on. Keith
barbels Posted April 24, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 24, 2013 the mis ship elevators are on the port side- so a little less walking on that side.
mpace58 Posted April 24, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 24, 2013 Port. Our rooms have always been on Port side. I would be lost if I every had a Starboard side cabin. :D
