Just heard the radio on nyharborwebcam say they are doing FIREWORKS now!!! They are down to 4.6 knots.

We heard the fireworks from my home. My husband asked me, "why are there fireworks now on a Weds night" and I said I bet it is for the Breakaway, and a second later we heard her horn. :) I wish I had known, I would have walked down to the waterfront.

Minor correction--that was the Jersey City skyline backing the fireworks.

The Freedom Tower is shown in a later post behind the Breakaway.

 

I wonder how the fireworks that will be launched from the Breakaway itself, can compare to that show, launched from a barge?
