Rumor Time...

Recommended Posts

In this month's Ask Adam blog there was an interesting piece of information I have not read about around here.

There was a question about varying the Caribbean ports more or changing ships itineraries that have become bland. There was something that caught my eye at the end of Adam's response.

"...In addition to specific destinations, we have also increased the number of cruises offered for the Caribbean as well as the Panama Canal and we have a record offering for this coming year. A few examples include the return of Southern Caribbean cruises from San Juan this summer with Jewel of the Seas and the just announced summer cruises out of Galveston, Texas with Navigator of the Seas for 2014. We are not done yet and have an additional announcement planned in the coming months."

I assume the additional announcement that will affect the Caribbean sailings has to do with the homeport of Anthem or Oasis III?

Anyone heard anything from reliable sources (cabin stewards, bar tender's, etc.)?

I just read that most of the cruise lines are reducing the itineraries in the Med and Europe due to increasing costs and possibly adding more to the Carribean and/or other ports.

Great! I would be much more inclined to look at a 4 or 5 day that was not just to Nassau.

Amen to that! Not the booking part, PC is just too convenient for us not to, but it would be nice to have another option. We don't bother getting off, we just enjoy the ship. (no punishment there! :D)

That's good to hear! I definitely think they need to change / improve the port choices and itineraries! For us in the Caribbean, been there, done that!

Maybe they will confirm or spike the rumors about the Explorer coming to PC with 4/5 night itins?

No, that is definite. Travel agents have the schedules.

Do you know when that is supposed to start?? Is that the schedule that is supposed to be released 5/21? Thanks

I really don't know if it will come out on 5/21, but it might? The only thing that I have seen are these itineraries that were posted in this thread...

Take a look at these two posts that are from the thread linked above, I don't where they are from....

Would be great if it all shakes out the way it looks.

That is a contradiction...

LOL...so true. I think some people posting here are more "in the know" than some crew onboard.

Sorry, there isn't yet a sarcasm font, although there should be! ;)

....are literal. There are times you need to be careful of saying anything, "tongue-in-cheek" on CC. LOL

But, we were chatting with the gentleman that works on Navigator and he did say Navigator was coming to Galveston year round. He was right, lucky guess? Or was he possibly the Undercover boss? One never knows!
