On the Solstice now...amazing day in Tracy Arm

The first Solstice Cruise to Alaska had a great visit to Tracy Arm Fjord early this morning. The clouds early at first light quickly dissipated and we were given a day with crystal clear blue skies to view this most amazing place. I have been to Tracy Arm three times before today and today's visit was, by far, the most impressive. The Captain was able to navigate VERY close to Sawyer glacier. Naturalist Brent Nixon's narration of the visit provided what was, at times, very moving commentary on the majesty of Tracy Arm.

After the afternoon in Juneau we are off to Skagway….

The Solstice is a great addition to Alaska. More to follow after our return.

Will be on the Solstice June 7th for Alaska, so please write a review when you return I will be anxious to hear all about it, thanks for the update on Tracy Arm I was afraid that maybe we wouldn't be able to see to much. Have a great cruise and can't wait to hear from you when you return.

Joann, do you have a tour planned for Juneau yet? We have a private charter for whale watching that we need 2 more people for. If you are interested or know 2 people who are e-mail me at pdranson@yahoo.com. Pat

We do have something booked, what time is your excursion, Price? I will check with my group that I am going with. You may already have it filled, but let me know.

We had a pretty clear day too a couple years ago and also got close - nice change from Hubbard. We just booked Solstice to see Tracy Arm again next May-16. Good Luck with rest of trip.
