Upgrade call for solo cruisers

For the first time since cruising, I got a call from the cruiseline asking me if I wanted to upgrade to a suite !

I had to listen more than once at the message. I never got a call for an upgrade, esp not a suite.

I left a message and waiting back.

Have any other solo cruisers receive a call for an upgrade?

I've received free upgrades, but have never received an offer to upgrade. They just did it. The best one was on Princess. I booked an obstructed oceanview (oxymoronic!) and was upgraded to a mini-suite without a balcony.

Yes. In my five solo cruises, I have been upgraded four times. I have been upgraded to a higher deck but same category, and my best upgrade was a double...inside to obstructed view to balcony.

Congrats on your upgrade offer.

Hi

I've been keeping my eye on the balcony "aft" cabin there are so often coveted for my July 8th sailing on the Victory. Looks like there are quite a few left (at least 6 from what I saw). If I called and tried to bargain with a supervisor a bit closer to sailing- do they ever go for it? Right now it is showing on the website as an additional $14.00 per day per person.

Thanks,

Caro
