uvakat Posted June 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2013 We are sailing out of Ft Lauderdale in September and have been looking for a hotel in the area. We are looking for one that is within walking distance to restaurants/ shopping etc since we are getting in at 10 AM the day before the cruise. Does anybody have any recommendations? Also after a quick google search, it seems like people either like the Embassy Suites or the Courtyard Airport & Cruise Port. Does anybody have any first hand experience with these hotels or others? Thanks!
JohninDC Posted June 18, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2013 ES is our favorite in the FLL area - close to the port, close to shopping and dining options (Total Wine is close by for your "cruise supplies" ;)), a nice pool area, great breakfast and free happy hour.:D If you arrive at 10:00 your room will likely not be ready, but they should be happy to hold your bags while you head out for lunch. Taxi from FLL to ES should be about $15, and depending upon where your ship is (PE is big!), another cab in the morning should be aobut $10-15. Good luck! :)

royalcruz Posted June 18, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2013 Also look at Gallery One Doubletree. It's next to a mall and walking distance to a dozen restaurants. Riverside Hotel is also in a shopping and dining district.
ptcruzers Posted June 18, 2013 #5 Share Posted June 18, 2013 Happy Hour and cooked-to-order Breakfast not free but included in the rate you pay to stay at Embassy Suites, which by the way is a great place to stay pre-cruise!!:cool:
Rare Keith1010 Posted June 18, 2013 #6 Share Posted June 18, 2013 We've stayed at Embassy Suites along with some other hotels in the area. I find the Embassy Suites to be convenient to stores and restaurants and the hotel is nice and includes a nice breakfast. Relatively close to the airport and the port.
