Do you walk with bikinis from cabins to pool deck?

Think of the ship as a hotel. Would you walk from you hotel room through the hallways, onto the elevator, and out to the beach or pool without a cover up? Probably not. :) Just seems to me it's more 'tasteful' to wear something over your bikini en route to the pool. :)

If you wish to go to Lido for lunch or a snack, you must wear something over your swimsuit.

Forget manners. It's a matter of personal comfort. Every cruise I've been on has always been excessively air conditioned in the public spaces. Walking Back to your cabin without a cover up would freeze you to death as soon as you got inside the doors!

But speaking as a man, the more you want to walk around in your itty-bitties I support you :)

lol I know it's a dumb question but I want to know if do you walk all the way from cabins to pool deck on bikinis or you dress up at the pol deck?

I think that to be sure, you should post a few pics of you in a bikini and we will decide what's appropriate for you!

I remember once in Europe I watched a woman change into her bikini right beside the pool (not on a cruise), just local pool. I was quite shocked, but did not mind the show

Yes, that happens here (at public pools as well as on beaches), and it's not only women.... But most of the times it's really nothing you want to see

And to answer the first question: I always wear a cover up on the way to the pool. I even do when I walk from my chair to the Pool bar (I might be German but couldn't be more far away from being Heidi Klum :D)

It would feel kind of strange to use an elevator with dressed people while I wear nothing but a bikini.

This topic got me thinking about one of DWs pet peeves which is what she likes to call the "Robe People." These are cruise passengers who wear the robes around the ship (we have even seen some go into the Lido buffets with robes). They just look silly. Of course there is the tale of the lady who wore her robe to the pool and took it off before sitting in a lounger. The problem was that she had forgotten to put on her swim suit!

I know that a number of posters on different threads have expressed the view that wearing robes around the ship is bothersome. Sure, not in the boutiques, or casino, but what is wrong with wearing a robe from cabin to pool or spa? That seems to me to be precisely what the robes are intended for.

Just returned from my 1st cruise ( Carnival Ecstacy) and I saw a few people (outside of the pool or lounging) in the eating areas in a bikini or men with no shirt on. Most did cover up.

wear a cover up. some will tell you wearing a robe is acceptable, I personally believe robes are for after the shower or in the sauna, but not poolside.

doesn't matter of you are Heidi Klum or not.. it is inappropriate to wear a swimsuit out and about

Ok...let's not get stupid here. There are exceptions to EVERY rule :D
