Ladies, Do you take a purse?

In ports (or in any city while traveling in general), I carry a cross-body tote that either zips or has a flap shut. It's big enough to hold my camera and water bottle as well as a strap in the bottom where I clasp my wallet.

On board the ship, I just carry my ship card in a pocket or in my hand...

Yes I take a purse since I don't have anyone to carry my stuff.

When traveling to the cruise I take one of these Hipsters from Vera Bradley. It's large enough to carry all my regular purse stuff including my cellphone and travel docs.

On the ship I carry the mini hipster and it holds my camera, kindle, small wallet with my id and gambling funds and kleenex and hand sanitizer.

Both of these are worn cross body.

Wow, I take the same type Vera Bradley purses, mini hipster for onboard and then the hipster onshore. (But in different colors that coordinate with my clothes)

I have never taken a purse on a cruise. I have a tiny coin purse that my drivers license and credit card fit perfectly in. I take that in my carry on and as soon as I get on board it goes in the safe along with our cash. I figure I will have no need for a purse on the cruise so there is no use bringing it and having it sitting around in the cabin for the week.

I have a cross body leather bag that I carry for travel to the ship. I don't even remember what I did last time ... didn't like the lanyard idea. Maybe I just held in in my hand? Have to find an option by October!

Also have a big beach bag for all our stuff in port, I do have a waterproof neck bag for our S&S cards and passports when in port, and a nice wristlet for evenings/MDR.

Before our first cruise, I got this idea to make a cross-body little purse thingie that I could use to carry things on the ship. I crocheted it out of the ugliest yarn I could find in my stash (I think it was called "Mexican Fiesta").

It holds our S&S cards, hubby's meds, my epi-pen, my kindle, and anything else I don't feel like toting around in my hands. It works perfectly. My husband says it is so ugly, nobody would ever want to touch it, let alone steal it. I just leave it on the lounger when I ride the water slide or sit in the hot tub for a bit, and in 13 cruises, nobody has ever touched it.

(I must admit, it really is hideous - I didn't have a pattern or anything, and it is very lumpy in addition to being bright, godawful colors...)

Depends on where we're going and for how long. usually I only need my Ship card so my husband carries everything. however on some excursions/ports I also bring: camera, chapstick, sunglasses, sunscreen, money, ID, waterbottle, odds and ends... so I may bring a small handbag or a little backpack.

If our child goes we sometimes bring a stroller which has a bag where I'll throw my stuff(and his)

That's too funny!

Is there a need to have one? I am thinking that I won't take mine as it is just one more thing to keep up with while on the cruise. My license and documents I can keep with my husband or in a backpack.

Just wondering what your thoughts are about taking purses!

Thank you!

I always take mine because we always do something on the trip down. Once on the ship, my purse goes in the closet and I put my phone and wallet in the safe.

Ladies I found a great little purse called a Mini Pack at the Totes outlet (Tanger Outlet ) this weekend, it only cost $5.99 and is what I'll be using around the boat in particular (used a 20% coupon and got it for $5.13 with tax). Pic with details is attached - only difference is mines from Totes outlet doesn't have that decorative leather strip going down the front of it. It's made of material which to me is perfect for kicking around the ship (i.e., hanging at pool, bingo, casino, etc.), and says can hold a small camera, keys, card, phone (camera would have to be small tho). Can be worn on a backpack, belt or as a cross body bag.

My last two cruises were just DH & I, so I didn't carry any kind of purse while on the ship and just a small bag for essentials in port. Our next cruise will include our three young children so I need to carry something most of the time - doesn't bother me though, I love a Vera crossbody and this is a good excuse to shop for a new one! (or two... :D)

On the ship, never. If it can't go in a pocket it stays in the cabin. in some ports I go ultra light and keep everything in cargo shorts pockets. In others I use a small cross body bag that's just big enough for a map, bottle of water, advil packet, tissues, Wet Wipes, small purchases, etc.

In port, I have a cross body bag that I use; it's the perfect size to hold everything.

On the ship, during the days, I do have a small beach bag that holds a book, my iPad, my camera and my SeaPass card. In the evenings, I have a wristlet.

All 3 bags work great for me and they are easy to pack.
