gregbar Posted July 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2013 I have never been on Celebrity before, and I was hoping some could help me based on their past Aqua Class experience. Are Aqua Class passengers assigned to a MDR table and time? Or are they assigned to Blu? Additionally, does Blu's menu change daily?

You can come anytime between 5:30 and 9:00 to dine. First come, first serve. Many tables for two- but they can also accommodate larger groups. Even though you may have booked early or late dining- you can come when you please. The menu changes daily- but as with MDR they have a few staples that you can eat daily that do not change. Enjoy your cruise

Enjoy your cruise For AQ passengers, Blu replaces the Dining Room, you will not be assigned a table in the MDR and as others have said Blu is totally anytime dining. They will ask you to pick a dining time but this is only for the computer and has no effect on when you eat.

Rare ghstudio Posted July 21, 2013 #6 Share Posted July 21, 2013 For completeness, you can't make reservations for blu...it is only dine when you show up unless you have a large group. Like the MDR, there are 14 different menus for Blu and they change daily. On the first night, you will find a letter in your stateroom "assigning" you to early or late dinner for only the first night. You can pretty much ignore that letter and show up when you want, even on the first night. Unless they have changed recently, the choice of early/late or select dining when you book in aqua class only effects your billing at final payment time. If you choose select, then your gratuities will be added to your final payment bill; if you choose early/late then your gratuities will be added to your on-board account. If you book in aqua and want to eat in the MDR one (or more) nights, see the maitre d' in Blu and ask them to arrange it. They may (most likely) tell you to just go to select dining in the MDR...but occasionally they will arrange for you to eat at the early/late seating because select is too busy. The Blu dress code is smart casual every night although many do wear suits or formal wear. If you have a bottle of wine that isn't finished at the end of your meal, they will store it for you and you can request that bottle from any other restaurant....so if you have a bottle in Blu and decide to dine in the MDR, just ask and they will find your bottle in Blu and deliver it to your table. 4774Papa Posted July 21, 2013 #7 Share Posted July 21, 2013 BLU is wonderful. We did Aqua on Infinity. Just be careful picking your cabin, if it is on the deck below the pool deck.
Rare keesar Posted July 21, 2013 #8 Share Posted July 21, 2013 You will be assigned a dining room time in the Main Dining Room when you visit "My Celebrity" and review your reservation. This will always be the case if you are assigned to Blu. Don't worry if you see that. We have enjoyed Blu. On some ships, it is much better than others. The menu is not as extensive as the MDR, but you will find something delicious. Breakfast is real good in Blu but it does not change. We will often go to the MDR for breakfast for a change of pace. flames9 Posted July 21, 2013 #9 Share Posted July 21, 2013 Ask politely, and you shall probably receive!! Caesar salad was not normally on the BLU menu--but I asked and had it every night! A few ttimes I asked for a bit larger portion, and again, no problem. I saw some that had the Shrimp cocktail quite often. Others have reported they saw something on the MDR menu, and they were able to get that. Yes it depends on the ship and waiter, but does not hurt to ask. We loved BLU and the staff. We also love Blue - but please note If you are on an M class ship - getting MDR menu items in Blu is not such a big deal as the kitchens are very close together. However IF you are on a S class ship - the kitchens are a ship length apart and requesting MDR menu items would be a huge imposition to the outstanding staff. UniPac Posted July 21, 2013 #11 Share Posted July 21, 2013 Blu rocks - big reason for us to have booked AQ for our next two cruises (and one of the reasons why we chose X again). If you like good food, you will love blu. We also like that we are able to come whenever we want and get seated at a nice table for two. It's so much more private than the crowded MDR.
