Does anyone know what the crew on the Millie is going to do while it is being repaired? Just curious.

There could be a few scenerios......some transferring to other ships

and some (who might be close to the end of their contracts) may go

home.....

But I cannot tell you 100% for sure where everyone is going.

I don't see many staying on board though.

...and many will stay with the ship performing other duties and/or providing service to maintenance crews. They never empty the ship of the hotel and restaurant staffs.

Maybe so....but seems she will be in a drydock for quite

awhile....I do agree some will stay, but as for how many?

I believe I read that the drydock will be in the Bahamas. If that is the case, much of the time will be needed to get there from the West coast.

And there are the reports that USCG said no pax until the repairs are done. Wonder whether cabin attendants, bar staff and servers are considered "pax" if no paying pax aboard?

Notably, service employees that typically receive tips and remain on board will have their tips "protected" by X's dry dock policy.

Most crew expected to remain on board.

 

Seasonal staff, such as Fun Factory, were leaving. Some gift shop staff had already left.

 

A few crew bets with scheduled vacation time that was to begin shortly thought that they might be sent home and have their next contracts adjusted accordingly.

 

No one I talked to had received firm instructions. All said that they would rather have pax aboard even though its hard work. Nice of them to say it even if they might privately think otherwise .

 

One person talked about a lot of special cleaning, and organizing, a chance to move some supplies around and clean out closets, but I couldn't tell if he was joking or not!
