megnut78 Posted August 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2013 I have searched the posts and can't seem to find a thread on this, but I'm sure I'm just missing it, so apologies in advance. We just got off the Splendor yesterday and we think we want to book a cruise to Bermuda for next year, but I can't seem to find one at all on Carnival's website. We went to Bermuda last year on RCI, but would really prefer to stay with Carnival. Anyone know how to find one with Carnival?? Am I missing something? jwalk03 Posted August 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2013 Carnival wasn't able to get any dock spaces in Bermuda for 2014. The other lines beat them to the punch, so Carnival is not crusing there in 2014.
golfadj Posted August 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 30, 2013 I would think that with the ship there 3 days and many passengers off at night their gambling and alcohol revenue suffers so they dont really want to go there. A shame as we did this on the Miracle in 2011 and had what was probably our best cruise ever.

In addition to the stay over crusies they also had other sailings where it was a "stop" like a regular port of call. They lost all their berths there, either being beaten to the draw as previously mentioned or by design. They have never had a strong presence in Bermuda. Wish they did. A shame as we did this on the Miracle in 2011 and had what was probably our best cruise ever. Their gambling revenue does not suffer with passengers off the ship at night, it suffers for another reason, the casinos are closed when in port.;) There's very little night life in Bermuda so most passengers are back on board and probably drinking.:D Still, the lines that continue to go there are sailing full. Rare pirate4me2 Posted August 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 30, 2013 I wish they would do some cruises there, that's one of my bucket list cruises. I guess if I ever see one on their website I will have to jump on it. Or try another line.
caribsun Posted August 30, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 30, 2013 If CCL and passengers where willing to do a 7day with a Wednesday departure, there would be room at the Dockyard. Would you sail leaving on a Wednesday ? :)

megnut78 Posted August 30, 2013 Author #10 Share Posted August 30, 2013 I would definitely be willing to leave on a Wednesday - I left on a Wednesday for this prior cruise :) It's a shame that wont be sailing in 2014. Does anyone know if they have any more in 2013 to Bermuda? If CCL and passengers where willing to do a 7day with a Wednesday departure, there would be room at the Dockyard. megnut78 Posted August 30, 2013 Author #11 Share Posted August 30, 2013 Thanks for the info! Guess we will either try out another cruise line if hubby definitely wants to go to bermuda or we shall see :) carnival wasn't able to get any dock spaces in bermuda for 2014. The other lines beat them to the punch, so carnival is not crusing there in 2014.

VaTech8912 Posted August 30, 2013 #15 Share Posted August 30, 2013 Bermuda choices are 5 day from NJ on RCL, 7 day from NJ on Celebrity, 7 day from NY on NCL and 7 day from Boston on NCL. (at least for now) We love Bermuda and have used RCL from Norfolk and Celebrity from NJ. It is one place that I will use whoever goes there, I like it that much. NCTribeFan Posted August 30, 2013 #18 Share Posted August 30, 2013 I did the only Glory to Bermuda cruise (from Norfolk). I had originally booked one of the Fantasy cruises, but when I realized we were only in port for 1-1/2 day and one of those days was Sunday, I switched to Glory. Still, we were only there for 1-1/2 days, which is simply not long enough. It wasn't cheap (Bermuda must charge a lot for docking space) and there just wasn't enough time to explore. They didn't seem to have any problem filling the ship on that sailing. I did like what I saw and would like to spend more time there. Cruising from Norfolk was great, and I like Glory (although I prefer smaller ships). I would very much like to return to Bermuda.

Can't believe I forgot that one. Baltimore's port is so easy. Only problem is that ship for some reason is always much more expensive it seems. mrsd912 Posted August 31, 2013 #24 Share Posted August 31, 2013 Our next cruise will be to Bermuda on NCL out of Boston, mainly because we can easily drive there and I'm hoping by then we'll have a baby to bring with us. I wish Carnival would do this itinerary out of Boston, but that's life. Maybe someday.
riclop Posted August 31, 2013 #25 Share Posted August 31, 2013 Try NCL or RCCl. if you really want to go to Bermuda.
