yaktheback Posted September 2, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2013 I found this in my mom and dad's house while cleaning it out. I can remember them going on this cruise when I was very young. Anyone know about what year

happy cruzin Posted September 2, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 2, 2013 Simple, but worked. Notice the bar hours? I would like to see those hours on ships today..... TRUE! But....how about the coat and tie required in all public areas - after 6 pm - for the gentlemen??? ;)
asalligo Posted September 2, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 2, 2013 I love that! I want to go back to coat and tie required. Time Travel cruising. That's the ticket.
CruiseHealing Posted September 2, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 2, 2013 I typed "Bahama Star" into Wikipedia and here somewhat of the ship's history. It sister ship had a tragic ending that probably made cruising safer for us all now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Yarmouth_Castle

FireEater Posted September 2, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 2, 2013 TRUE! But....how about the coat and tie required in all public areas - after 6 pm - for the gentlemen??? ;) Thanks for pointing that one out. I missed it on my original read. Hey dress for success and feel like a million bucks I say. I would be game for that... I know going in what to expect...and would not try to buck the system.. They have ships like that now. The high end ones. I would like to try one of those once, but am lacking the 15-20K needed for a weeks cruise....I never had a butler before.....:D

crusinpsychRN Posted September 30, 2013 #12 Share Posted September 30, 2013 When we boarded the Queen Elizabeth in 1964 we received a list of all passengers on board!
Philly Steve Posted October 3, 2013 #13 Share Posted October 3, 2013 When we boarded the Queen Elizabeth in 1964 we received a list of all passengers on board! Same thing for us on the Norway in 1994. Looking at that Bahama Star evening schedule, it's funny how things haven't changed all that much. Bingo and a floor show! :)
