Will it be possible for my son to pick us up when we dock on our stop in SF. We plan to go to lunch at Fog City Fish House on Pier 39.

Yes. Traffic will be heavy, but it is commonly done.

Why not just meet up at Fog City rather than try and fight through the congestion in front of the cruise terminal? It is only a 10-15 minute walk from Pier 35 to Pier 39 where the restaurant is?

I would also recommend you meet him at the restaurant.

 

However, if this is not doable I suggest that he park across the street from the pier and that he wait at the passenger exit for you and then you can either all walk to the restaurant from there or he can drive you.

Thanks so much for the info. I think we'll try to hoof it. We are not able to walk far, but if we set off early and rest often, I think we can make it. I also understand it's a long walk from the ship to the end of the pier.

 

Someone said look for a pedicab. I'd consider that. :)

 

That way he can concern himself with parking. And possibly give us a ride back.
