Ship and Year of Cruise: Infinity, October 2014

Cabin #: 8031

Deck: 8

Class: 2B

Area: Forward

Bed Near: Bathroom

Quiet?: Yes - no problems.

Balcony View: Good, no obstructions

Balcony Size: Normal

Wind a Problem?: No

Soot a Problem?: No

Comments: Very short walk from Forward elevators. Opposite a crew door but never heard any noise from there. Cabin in very good condition except for the doormat to the balcony that 'walked' and was falling apart. There was a very bad smell from the bathroom on one occasion that was quickly dealt with. However two days later the smell was in the whole corridor outside, but thankfully not in the cabin or bathroom. This took a while to be cleared and was really overpowering.

CABIN #: 9095

DECK #: 9

CLASS: A2

AREA: Midship

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Overhang offers protection but hinders view up to sky

BALCONY SIZE: Average

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We had this cabin for an Alaskan itinerary, which offered pros and cons as to the balcony overhang. Pro: We were dry and able to be outdoors even in rainy, misty conditions. Con: When cruising the inside passage, the overhang only allowed us to view straight out, not up to the towering vistas. I would not hesitate to book this cabin in most situations, as the overhang does provide shade and rain protection.

Millennium

CABIN #: 6146

DECK #: 6

CLASS: Sky Suite

AREA: Rear

BED NEAR: Adjoining Penthouse Suite

QUIET?: No. There is a staging area for butler service right outside the room. The noise during the times that butlers are preparing their carts makes this room sound like one is in the middle of an institutional kitchen. Although I informed the Hotel Director of this problem, no change in the sound was perceived.

BALCONY VIEW: The sea.

BALCONY SIZE: Enormous

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The balcony was unusuable for most of the trip due to the smell of sewage. Despite repeated complaints, this smell persisted.

SHIP: Constellation

CABIN #: 1130

DECK #: 11

CLASS: AQ1

AREA: Aft/Stern

BED NEAR: Bath - facing inboard

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Yes

BALCONY SIZE: Outstanding with good sized overhang

WIND A PROBLEM?: Not at all

SOOT A PROBLEM?: None

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: These aft-facing AQ balconies are excellent. Room identical to others, but balcony and location are great. It is like being on a small ship - small, isolated berthing area and private dining room (Blu) with large ship amenities - shows, shops, etc.

SHIP: Summit

CABIN #: 8160

DECK #: 8

CLASS: Concierge

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: Bath - facing inboard

QUIET?: Yes - other than adjoining room noise, such as TV and wake up calls.

BALCONY VIEW: Starboard side

BALCONY SIZE: Not bad, overhang covered even during rain.

WIND A PROBLEM?: Not at all - left clothing outside to dry and they barely moved, even when the ship was moving.

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The bathroom smelled like an old gym sneaker, and even when we tried to leave the door open to air it out, it still smelled pretty bad. Got used to it a little by the end of the week, but was really strong when you first walk in. Since it's in the back of the ship, you can really feel the movement back and forth while the ship is moving as well.

SHIP & YEAR OF CRUISE: Infinity (2014)

CABIN #: 6130

DECK #: 6

CLASS: S1

AREA: aft

BED NEAR: Middle of room, facing the sea

QUIET?: Yes,

BALCONY VIEW: Great

BALCONY SIZE: Normal for Sky Suite. Room for two reclining chairs plus two ottomans.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Located beside the Sky Suite on the 'hump', which has a huge balcony. Plus loungers, room for a table/chairs. Meals easily served there. As 6130 is near the larger suites, the Butler and Stewards were top notch (if one assumes the better staff serve the Penthouse and Royal suites).

Celebrity Summit as of November 2014

CABIN #: 7001

DECK #: 7

CLASS: ?

AREA: Very front of the ship!

BED NEAR: Right hand side of room, facing the front of the ship with a view of the helipad/water

QUIET?: Dear God, NO!

BALCONY VIEW: n/a

BALCONY SIZE: n/a

WIND A PROBLEM?:n/a

SOOT A PROBLEM?:n/a

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The cabin is HUGE for an oceanview! Great layout, but I hesitate to book this again. Right next to this cabin is a crew -nly fire door. It slams SO LOUD it wakes you up. People are coming through it night and day. Our neighbors, one door farther away (7003) could hear it too. In fact, they mentioned it to an officer (not sure who or what type, but he had bars on his uniform) who apologized and said they would do what they could. They would try to change the tension on the door, etc. Was still loud and it was enough of an irritant that I may not book it again even though the room was AMAZING!

Ship and Year of Cruise: Constellation (November 2014)

Cabin #: 7182

Deck: 7

Class: C2 (Concierge)

Area: Aft

Bed Near: Bath

Quiet?: Yes, can't recall any noise at all (other than the one drunk who fell into the wall in the hallway...).

Balcony View: Great. The balcony for the suite below us stuck out and did block the view straight down.

Balcony Size: Standard size for Balcony/Concierge/Aqua class rooms

Wind a Problem?: No

Soot a Problem?: No

Comments: Very close to the aft elevators, which were typically not crowded, so it was very easy to use them to get wherever you needed to go.

SHIP & YEAR OF CRUISE: Summit, late fall of 2014

CABIN #: 1114

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Aqua Class

AREA: New cabins added at the rear of the ship, starboard

BED NEAR: N/A - all beds located near center

QUIET?: Very quiet

BALCONY VIEW: No issues, side balcony with no obstruction

BALCONY SIZE: Smaller than normal, and smaller than some others in that location. No footstools.

WIND A PROBLEM?:no

SOOT A PROBLEM?:no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:Very nice room. Issues were minor. Balconies on these cabins run small, and some are smaller than others. Ours was one of those. The patio door was difficult to open and close- it kept sticking. Air-conditioning pretty good overall, but a bit too warm during the day and cold at night. Even though cabins are fairly new, there is still an occasional sewer smell in the bathroom like in all M class cabins. Location is excellent - quick walk or ride to Blu, the buffet, or any specialty restaurant. Due to retrofit of cabins, you need to learn the ins and outs of how to get where you are going as some hallways are blocked, but overall we really, really liked the location of these cabins. Would stay in this area again in a heartbeat, but would pick a cabin a couple doors down either way. But if this is the only cabin I could get, I would take it without worry.

CELEBRITY SUMMIT, saildate: 16 Nov 2013 (so, after refurb!)

CABIN #: 1122

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Aquaclass

AREA: Aft - above Oceanview Cafe

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: YES! No noise from sundeck above nor from Oceanview Cafe below

BALCONY VIEW: No covered balcony, since it it is the highest deck with cabins. NO problems with people from the sundeck above (deck 12) looking onto your balcony, since the railing on deck 12 is placed a bit more inward, giving the balconies below on deck 11 their privacy.

BALCONY SIZE: Normal, however cabin's 1114 - 1116 - 1118 -1120

and cabin's 1115 - 1117 - 1119 - 1123 had a slightly bigger balcony, because these balconies are on the glass bulge-parts of the Oceanview Cafe below.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No, however, it is quite an 'open' balcony

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:

This is a complete new deck with complete new cabins which were added during the 2012 "Solsticization" (refurb).

Although the cabins were in the exact style-layout as the older original Millenium-class cabins, the cabins on deck 11 are actually bright-shiny-new with some Solstice-class furnishings!

Except for the cabins on the far aft side of deck 11 (noise from the Sunset bar below), I would definitely book one of these cabins again! :)

Just to clarify, just sailed in cabin 1114 and the balcony was definitely not one of the bigger ones, and not on the bump out. Choose a cabin a couple doors either way if you have a choice.

CABIN #: 9112

DECK #: 9

CLASS: Aqua

AREA:

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: Very Quiet

BALCONY VIEW: Good

BALCONY SIZE: Standard

WIND A PROBLEM?:No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The Aqua cabins on Deck 9 have been a question because of the over hang and their location under the pool area and buffet. We enjoy the over hang because we can sit outside out of the sun and our room stays cooler. This room is under the carpeted section of the buffet. As far as noise goes it was one of the quietest rooms we have ever had. We never heard any noise from the buffet above. We would most certainly book it again.

Celebrity Summit, December 13, 2014

CABIN #9133

DECK #9

CLASS: Aqua

AREA: Mid

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: Very

BALCONY VIEW: Great, liked the overhang out of the sun.

BALCONY SIZE: 50 Square feet, 2 chairs that recline and a round table. Had breakfasst there most mornings :)

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: No problems at all with cabin. Very convenient location to elevators and stairs to 10 for pool, bar, or buffet. Bathroom had a funny smell, but not annoying, and no mold or dirt anywhere. Hint, to have the fridge get cold, try to leave the cupboard door open to circulate the air around the fridge.

Cabin: 2136

quiet: very quiet

comments: extremely quiet cabin. close to midship elevators, close to gangway for port days, no reason to worry about it being an inside cabin, you only sleep here anyway!!

Ship and Year of Cruise: Constellation (December 2014)

Cabin #: 9046

Deck: 9

Class: A2 (Aqua)

Area: Forward

Bed Near: Bath

Quiet?: Yes & No (see comments below)

Balcony View: Good - extended overhang but no issues

Balcony Size: Standard

Wind a Problem?: No

Soot a Problem?: No

Comments: Short walk to the forward elevators/stairs and easy access to the gym. No noise from the employee door immediately opposite or neighbours. However I heard a fair bit of intermittent noise from the solarium above. During the middle of the day (if we happened to be in the room) this wasn't an issue, but I was woken most mornings around 6.30am when someone would start dragging the chairs around which was frustrating although it was only for a few minutes. Also, in addition to this I guess the used-towel carts get rolled about a fair bit as we would also hear a deep rumbling noise which sounded like distant thunder despite the skies being blue and sunny! All in all I wasn't too upset with the noise and I would take the room again.

Summit

CABIN #: 1117

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Aqua

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Terrific

BALCONY SIZE: bit larger than a normal balcony

WIND A PROBLEM?:no

SOOT A PROBLEM?:No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:This cabin was on the side of a hump. If that makes sense. So the balcony was angled and was a bit larger than a normal balcony. It was perfect.

Constellation

Room 9125

Floor 9

Aqua Class

Only problem was the noise from above. This cabin is immediately below a work area for the buffet and near a bulkhead door threshold. There was a lot of crash-banging of pots and pans and crash-banging of carts being pushed over the metal threshold.

I was able to cope with sleeping pills and ear plugs but would not choose this location again.

Summit - Nov 2014

Cabin #: 7100

Deck: 7

Class: 2A

Area: Midship

Bed Near: Bath

Quiet?: Yes aside from staff service room door directly across hall.

Balcony View: Wonderful .. no obstructions.

Balcony Size: Standard size for Balcony

Wind a Problem?: No

Soot a Problem?: No

Comments: Considered midship but was really more forward, never quite got used to direction getting to elevator/stairs. Room was a bit away from elevator/stairs so would have like to be a bit closer (getting fussier the more I cruise). Absolutely no noise from above or below or next door. Would book in this area again but perhaps a bit closer to midship elevator which would also move it away from the staff service room.

Summit Dec. 2014

Cabin 6140 RS

Area aft

Quiet...yes

Beautiful view

No wind no soot but lots of sun although the balcony is covered. We were in S. caribbean St Croix itinerary.

Only issue was neighbor turned on balcony light at four am. They are like floodlights and the window coverings do not block it out. So bright you can read on the balcony by the neighbors light at night. It was an unusual situation as our neighbor was a new mother. So would book the suite again.

Summit

CABIN #: 6146

DECK #: 6- Penthouse

CLASS: S1

AREA: Starboard Aft

QUIET?: Very! No noise from above or below. We heard the piano in the adjoining Penthouse suite being played for a couple of minutes on day 1, and never again. We could easily hear the doorbell to the Penthouse, which the butler rang often, since they had room service a lot. Neighbors on the other side had a couple of loud pre-dinner drinks with music on their balcony, but that can happen anywhere.

BALCONY VIEW: great!

BALCONY SIZE: don't know the square footage, but big enough for 2 chairs, table, and 2 chaise loungers. Would easily accommodate 4 chairs.

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The room is next to the penthouse, so decor and bath match the PH. Bath has tub, separate shower and double sink. The drape and window shade are controlled by switches. The balcony door is a single glass door, not a double sized sliding door, which means less of a view from inside the room. The balcony is covered by a couple of tarps, but there are gaps, so you can get wet if it rains. There are 2 rooms like this on each M class- you can do a search and see good videos and photos of these rooms. We loved it! Closet is smaller than most, but there is certainly adequate storage.

Celebrity Millenium cabin 2903 Oceanview twin or triple with sofa bed...very small, if using as triple barely able to walk between beds when sofa is made up. Can't see sea from bed. Some machinery on deck underneath used every night multiple times, noisy enough to wake me every night. Adequate storage, good access to lifts
