CruiserBruce Posted September 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2013 The best place for your research would be the Australia board, here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
Rare Keith1010 Posted September 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2013 I would do as Cruiser Bruce recommended. I am not aware of a duty free liquor store at the docks though. Keith
Shorex Posted September 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2013 Duty free purchases may be made only* when exiting a country, not for continuing to travel in (or around) that country. Any duty free shop in the Sydney cruise ship port would be exclusively for those sailing away from Australia. For example, if your next stop is New Zealand, you would be eligible to make duty free purchases. "Tax free" is different, but often confused with "duty free." *A few places, like Iceland and Bermuda, have "duty free on arrival" shops.
