quiksilver23 Posted September 19, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2013 I'm in my late 20's and planning on going on this ship in January. how is the nightlife on board? Is there a lot of people in their 20's and 30's on this ship? Are people in bed by 9 or does the party keep going till 2 or 3am? Thanks a lot
msw1023 Posted September 19, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2013 It varies cruise to cruise. Look up the roll call for your sailing and see if you can get a sense of who will be traveling with you. Some are very active and some are quiet. It may not be a true indicator, but you may get to know some folks ahead of time and plan a party ahead of time. lrn2cruise Posted September 19, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2013 I was on FOS in August of 2011. Lots of families with kids in the summer time and very family oriented. But, there are clubs on Deck 4 and the Casino, etc. I dont remember the pools hoping late at night. There were some movies in the movie theatre that DH went down to see. it smelled like cigarette smoke down there, so I passed and it was late. Not sure how that club action is down on deck 4. Maybe someone will come along

wallie5446 Posted September 19, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 19, 2013 We were on in Oct 2011 with our then 28 yr old DD. Most nights she did not appear back in the cabin till 3-4:00 in the early hours of the morning:eek: In Jan there will be lot for you to do with others. As mentioned, ck the Roll Call, but remember there will be 4500 pax on the sailing. Only about 50-80 know that Cruise Critic exist.
Reijo Posted September 19, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 19, 2013 Don't know where Carnival Breeze is coming from but I've sailed on Freedom a number of times and there is ALWAYS something going on at night LATE and on into the early morning hours. Some of the clubs have things going on. The Cafe Promenade is open 24 hrs. We have had Promenade Cabins and see people at the cafe at 3-4AM on every cruise. Don't worry, you won't be bored! nin_man Posted September 19, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 19, 2013 I've stumbled back to my cabin at three in the morning, filled with alcohol and regret, and was not even close to the last man down. I think you'll do fine for nightlife.

thegima Posted September 20, 2013 #14 Share Posted September 20, 2013 We were on FOS last year in September and it was a mixed bunch. One night they had football on outside and there were a ton of people out there having a good time and the next night there was some APE movie on and the place was deserted. The casino seemed to be packed no matter what time I was down there. Were in our late 20's as well and never felt the activities and stuff to do were lacking in any way. Then again were more laid back and not real into partying until 4am. We'll be on FOS again in a couple weeks so I'll let you know what happens this time around if you want :D

lrn2cruise Posted September 20, 2013 #20 Share Posted September 20, 2013 The movie theater smelled like cigarettes??? Or the Casino The movie theatre!!! It stunk! Maybe it was our cruise and smokers were in there, but I could not stand the smell. Hubby and I went down to deck 2 to look around and I could not stand it. cruisinpips Posted September 20, 2013 #21 Share Posted September 20, 2013 I am just telling the truth. I have been on both ships and on both cruise lines. For elegance I would pick Freedom of the Seas but for an overall FUN vacation, Carnival Breeze all the way Breeze319, I have been on Carnival Breeze, and Liberty of the Seas (4times) and I say there are more venues open til the wee hours on FOS (sister to LOS). I was on Breeze in July, and the only place I saw open late was Vibe... On FOS, you would have Bull and Bear, Schooner Bar, and Crypt... Maybe a couple other places also. The difference is, FOS will provide an overall better experience, IMO, than the breeze, for 20 somethings. My DD who is 12, would like Breeze for the water slides and ropes course. We sail FOS in 65 days, so I can gauge it better then, but I say it will be very similar to LOS. :D:D Either would be fun, but RCI provides a better product IMO. P.S. The drink package on RCI has no limit, unless you show signs of being too drunk. So if you wanna party for 18-20hrs of a 24 hr period, you can do so without a drink limit. ( not my cup of tea, but many 20 somethings can do it I'm sure!)

molsonschooner Posted September 20, 2013 #23 Share Posted September 20, 2013 we were on the FOS last September. We never had any trouble finding something to do late at night. Bull and bear was our favourite spot but there other places that seemed busy enough.
latnballer Posted September 20, 2013 #24 Share Posted September 20, 2013 My best late night memories were on FOS! Late night club went on till 3am then after that it was the after party in the pool. At the time I went RC had the dj mix academy that Carnival ended up also copying. There was a DJ from New York payed by RC that had the best mixes of current and older music that got the crowd going. On Carnival at the time I went they had one of their own people DJ and it was boooorring. He was selecting songs off a laptop and not mixing lol. No one was dancing!
