Lol, recently I said to my son, who by the way doesn't have a job, a pot to pee in the or a window to throw it through, if he wanted to do a 4 days cruise. He said, it was too much work. He is a freshman in college.

I would like to try one soon.

I know, but daughter is in school. Such a sweet break and one my mother in law would enjoy. I will keep checking

Maybe you could swap cards with someone who will be purchasing theirs on that future voyage and who doesn't plan to use it for brewed coffee? I'd certainly swap with you, as I only use the punches and thus don't care about the date as long as the punches are there -- surely, I'm not the only one not using it for brewed coffee ever. This seems like it would be ethically okay . . .

Thanks for the offer.

Wish you were on my cruise.

I still have 2 of the old playing card type coffee cards that are TOTALLY unpunched so was going to try and turn one of those into a new card on the cruise next year.

I mostly use the cards for Cappuccinos and sometimes the premium tea so even if they insist on taking a punch for the tea it's not a big deal.

I think most people use the cards for the brewed coffee.

The 3 night cruise Nov 4 is Monday -- Thursday NOT a week end cruise. I just sailed the Oct 14 Golden for 4 nights and the cruise was the same as any other. There were very few children and the few we saw were to young to be in school. The entertainment was the same as any other cruise, there are no formal nights, we had steak and lobster on the third night, there is no most frqent cruiser celebration, no captains party, the elite party at 5PM was in Skywalkers every evening, we got 1 voucher for a drink per person to be used in any bar. The age was no different then a 7 night cruise, mixed crowd with a lot of seniors. They honored my OLD coffee card for a paid coffee . I tried a fresh brewed once and it was so strong i didn't drink it anyway. The coffee in the Horizon court and dining room was better.

Really? My son is 20 and in college and doesn't have much money because he spends everything he makes to travel. When he's saving for the next trip, he'll skip buying groceries just to sock more $ back for a trip. :). He gets the travel addiction from me.

On another coastal we once had a bunch of Vancouver firemen who dressed and talked like pirate throughout the entire cruse. They were an absolute kick. :D

Were we on that one with you?

I have a question regarding the future cruise credit. Will I be able to use it towards an already booked cruise, or must it be used towards a new booking? TIA!

I was told just for a new booking. That said, on the 5 day cruise we just did, I was able to get them to apply a FCC to it long after booking. I asked on one of the coastals because when I booked the cruise, there was no point, since it was a minimum of 7 to get the credit. The future cruise person called hq, and then told me to have our TA call. It took a bit of back and forth between my Travel Agent and Princess but they did it.

It could have been because it was a new ship, though.

What time does boarding usually begin for the 3-4 day LA cruises?

Does anyone have a link to recent patters?

Same as all cruises. They turn it over pretty fast. They shush everyone off, then the b2b's get off and customs clears the ship and everyone gets on.

Ok, thank you. I was wondering if there was a general pattern.

Different lines have different times that boarding generally starts.

Just did the 4 day last month, and with the special promotion doing the 3 day next week. With the cost being credited to my upcoming cruise in April, having a reunion with fellow cruisers from our Panama Canal cruise last April. Cheaper than going out to a nice dinner!

Doing the 4 day in March on the s Sapphire. I was wondering if you saw a lot of kids on board? This will be our first time sailing with Princess .

We just got back from 4 back-to-back Coastals. 4 day Catalina, 4 day Santa Barbara, 3 day Ensenada, and another 3 day Ensenada. These are the only 3-4 day cruises we’ve been on with Princess, all the others have been 7-15 day cruises.

We'll be doing the same thing as you did (although one of our 4-day segments is going to San Diego instead of Catalina). We'll be in a full suite and are wondering if we'll get a complimentary specialty restaurant dinner for each of the 4 segments. Would you have any idea?

On Princess, unlike some other lines, boarding starts when all cabins are ready, generally between 11:30-12-Noon. General boarding usually starts about 15 minutes later and you can go directly to your cabin. No being forced to go up to Lido for hours.

We received a complimentary dinner the first night of our three day in October.

Princess states that they only do the most traveled passenger and the captain's cocktail party ONLY on trips of 7 days or more.

We recently completed a 3 day on the Golden out of LA. We received a letter stating that there would be no "most traveled" luncheon on this short cruise. However, as part of the most traveled passengers, we were invited to a dinner in Sabatini's, Crown Grill or Crab Shack with no cover charge instead. We enjoyed a great dinner in Sabatini's.

My DW was in a cabin with our granddaughter and I was in a cabin with our grandson. We each received an elite set up, which we do not use. My DW exchanged hers for a bottle of wine and I exchanged mine for two coffee cards.

I did not observe any difference in the crowd as compared to any other Princess cruise. I did not encounter any rowdy/drunken behavior. The children, teens and young adults were exceptionally well-behaved. I noticed a large group from the ship's teen club having a great pool party one evening.

Entertainment and menus seemed to be just as on any other Princess cruise of longer duration. Daily activities were the same.

The three day cruise makes for a great weekend getaway and I would recommend it to anyone. The only negative in my opinion is the stop in Ensenada on every cruise. I wish Princess could change this up once in a while - maybe Cabo.....

That is kind of what I was thinking. We are actually doing a 4 day and was hoping it would be more typical of Princess. Have cruised Princess many times but not on a short cruise.

We just got off a 4 night one out of Florida and it was lovely but it was over Christmas so there were more diverse ages and families and maybe not as many partiers on a regular 4 nights there were two nights with productions shows, one night with the headliner comedy act we didn't get to see but everyone loved and one night with magician/commedty. In addition thee was lots of other smaller venues with karaoke , games and trivia, and smaller musical acts in the lounges including a Beatles cover band, there was MOTS including two nights of football, a sail away party a night time deck party that got moved into the piazza because of rain, there was also many different performers in the piazza including the magician , jugglers , Christmas carolers , a piano player a steel drum player. And I'm sure more three I'm forgetting. There was also many Christmas activities and performances, including a visit from Santa and snow in the piaza. there was thr usual casino tournaments, a mini gold tournament a basketball tournament , Zumba classes and many different offering from the salon doing classes in everything from curing a hangover with Accupuncture to how your skin can look younger Etc, there was the champagne waterfall and art auctions with free champagne. THERE WERE NO FORMAL NIGHTS . Everything was resort casual although the photo people did call night two "dress to impress" and had the usual formal photo ops. It's my understanding there will be know formal nights on any of these 3-4 night cruises and only one on the 5 night one. Also as there was no formal night there was no Captains dinner with escargot and lobster in the the MDR but both the crown grill and Sabitinis had lobster every night. We ate in Sabbatinis on Xmas Eve and it was wonderful l

You can't do Cabo on a 3-nighter. You need a sea day in each direction. You could do it on a 4-nighter but would have to give up the other California city.

We did 3 of the Golden weekend cruises and one during Thanksgiving week this fall. Every one of those cruises was full of partiers, which has been my experience on most of the 3-night cruises I've taken. I saw plenty of drunks, and there were a few drug arrests made when we came back to LA. The disco was hopping late at night for a change.

We sat in Vines and took it all in.:)

As for the coffee cards, we swapped one setup for two cards (Elite in suites). On the first cruise, they just dropped them off in the cabin while we were at the lifeboat drill, and they were blank on the back. On a later cruise they asked us to stay in the cabin to sign for them, and they had the ship and sail date on the back.

We were only in a suite for one 3 day and got all the perks. I spoke to 4 other people (elite/suite) that were on b2b’s and they all received the perks each day. One woman’s b2b’s included a one day repo from Vancouver I think. She also got all the perks on all of them. She didn’t drink coffee but had a whole suitcase full of liquor bottles to take home.

We traded the 2 setups for 4 coffee cards. They were there when we returned from muster drill but were dated. Oh well, we’ll get more next week.
