Drinks Package Question

We are going on adventure of the seas next year and am debating buying the package or not.

I know all adults in the same cabin have to buy a package, but my question is Do we both have to buy the same package? My DH never drinks spirits and would likely only drink beer and maybe wine with his dinner, but I would enjoy a gin&tonic or 2 in the evening. could we buy 1 classic and 1 premium package, or would we need to buy 2 premium packages which would cost an extra 140$ over the 2 weeks.

Thank you!

If you purchase the package ahead of time on Royal's website, you will both have to purchase the same package. If you wait until you board the ship to purchase, you may find they have more flexibility than the websiite.

You will need to weigh the cost of the package against how many drinks you are likely to buy...if you are only buying a couple drinks each per day, the package will NOT pay for itself. You should buy drinks as you need/want them, instead.

The question was whether or not both passengers in the stateroom had to buy the same package or could they buy different packages - not whether or not the packages were a good value.
