Radio, hope you are having a great time. Did you notice if they have donuts in the morning and escargot at dinner?

I'm also wondering about the escargot? I will be on the Grandeur in a few weeks and escargot is my absolute favorite appetizer. They didn't have them on my last cruise out of Baltimore in January. I've read that they are still on many of the other ships and hope that I can look forward to them being on the Grandeur.

Mark -

Great pictures as always. Glad it cleared up for your sailaway and hope you get calmer waters soon. The JS looks fantastic!

Say hello to the gang for me. It rained for the first time tonight in Rome. I don't know what the weather will be like tomorrow for our sailaway, but I don't really care since the weather the last four days has been superb - sunny and 75+ - not at all what I was expecting in Nov.

Just finding this. My wife and I leave on Grandeur in 2 months. Thanx for posting from the ship. We're also interested in knowing if they serve escargot, and while you're in the dining room can you find out what the nightly after dinner cocktails are? Friends told us there is a different one every night. We will be following along now for sure.

funNJfamily, when in Jan are you sailing on the Grandeur? We're going, 1/11. Really looking forward to it! They usually have different shooters, after dinner, in the MDR.

Thanks, again, Mark! Hope you're feeling better. The rougher it is, the more I like it!:D

Hello everyone. . . Welcome to Day 2 of “LIVE” from Grandeur of the Seas. .....

A local news helicopter was filming our departure for the evening news (WBAL)

.

There were three different helicopters. In addition to WBAL there was a police helicopter and one from WJZ

I was surprised - I thought it was all the same helicopter until I looked at the photos.

Hello everyone . . .We are still having very rough weather and high seas. However, only passengers have been really concerned. The crew and the Captain’s staff have suggested that it will get better each nautical mile closer to Bermuda. The weather is still warm and the rain has stopped, but it is very windy. The windy decks have kept most passengers inside.

Tonight was formal night; however, many passengers (including me) decided to go to the Windjammer. If I had to do it over again, I would have gone to the main dining room because I did not really enjoy the entrees that were served in the Windjammer this evening. Yet, the pistachio ice cream and peach cobbler were wonderful.

I stopped at the Diamond Lounge before dinner and I was happy to see that Ruth Romo came back from holiday on November 1st. However, there was a mix-up as she was supposed to be in the Concierge Lounge this week. The paperwork distributed to the guests said she was the Diamond Concierge for this sailing. Next week she will return to the Concierge Lounge. Ruth is a gem! I can’t believe she remembered my from the September sailing. She is full of energy and very endearing.

Here are a few pics from this afternoon. Thanks for the nice comments.

I'm loving the pics too. Can't wait till it's my turn. :)

The talk of rough weather brings back memories, ... mostly good. ;)

I do hope it calms down for you and everyone.

We leave on the 16th, so I'm going to get serious about sorting and getting things together today. :)

I am thoroughly enjoying reading your review and sailing along with you in my mind:D. Great pictures by the way. I was wondering when the ship would arrive in Bermuda so I can watch it on the webcam. Thanks for taking the time to post your live report for all of us to enjoy.

gingerma, December 24. Wife's hairdresser told her there is a different shooter every night. We would like to know what they are.

OP, it doesn't look like the centrum area had many people at the captain's reception. We're hoping there is more excitement in December. Wife's friends grandeur pictures it looked like standing room only.

One more question, on the Windjammer and the dining room. Why would you go to the windjammer instead of the dining room? Especially when you didn't like what they had? Can you look in the buffet and if you don't like it go to your dining room table? Thanx!

There were hundreds of Passengers at the Captains Gala. . . It was difficult to get next to the rail on Decks 5 and 6. I was on deck 4. I will post more pics later.

I went to the Windjammer, because I overslept. The buffet looked great, and it didn't taste bad but I think I would have liked the MDR entrees a little better.

Have a great Cruise in December.

Hello everyone . . . Good morning and Welcome to Day 3 of “LIVE” from Grandeur of the Seas.

Today is a new day. . . The skies are blue and the seas look beautiful.( a little choppy, but much better than yesterday). The temps are at 70F and it should go up to 78 this afternoon. We still have some wind, but it is so nice to see the sun that most passengers’ attitudes are very positive. We are just about 40nm from Bermuda, and should be able to see land by around noon. We should be picking up the pilot by about 2PM, and are scheduled to arrive at 3 PM in the Dockyard.

There seemed to have been a little confusion about the ship’s time as we were never requested to move our clocks at all. I am sure this is due to the “Fall Back” one hour in the U.S. at 2:00 AM this morning. . . . The ship’s time did not change, as it usually does for Bermuda, but the clocks on the TV all are 1 hour behind. However, all the analog clocks around the ship are still on EDT! We will have to move them back on Wednesday so we will be in sync.

Starbucks was scheduled to open at 7AM, and they were right on time . . . I think in the Cruise Compass that Royal Caribbean should always note the “Starbucks Time” instead of Ships Time. . .

I will be renting a scooter today, and since it will be late by the time I am ready I may just explore the Dockyard area and decide later what will happen tomorrow. Most shops should be open today, but since we are the only Ship here today, I am sure the Dockyard will not feel crowded.

Here are a few pics from this morning. . .More pics later !
