Gibraltar on a Sunday

Just booked a cheapie cruise for December (interestingly booked through agent as deal not available on P&O website) and we are in Gibraltar on a Sunday (15th December)

Does anyone know if the shops will be open as usual as I think our plan this time is just to make it a shopping day

I'm afraid that Gibraltar shops are mostly closed on a Sunday. You can walk through them to a nice garden near the bottom of the gondolar ride to the top of the rock. Takes about 30 mins from the ship and is an easy walk if you don't want to go up the rock.

Mostly duty free. Have been to Gib before and been up the Rock so thought would stay at the shops pre-Christmas. Perhaps more than usual will be open as it is pre Christmas

Will not worry about it and if not much open will have a nice walk

Hi Gadabout; sounds like you will be on the Oceana then? Us too - just booked.

Have you been on Oceana before?

We've just come back off the Oceana stopping at Gibraltar on a Sunday. Had a great time :):) The big shops like M & S and BHS were closed but all the other shops seemed to be open. The big Morrisons was open and the MacDonalds next door had the fastest wifi speed we encountered on the whole trip.

We got one of the taxis from the port, great value £22 each for a trip round the Peninsula and included entrance to 3 attractions.
