Please come back and finish up. :)

I need Saturday!...WAAAAAAA :p

I am so sorry! I know I get mad when others do this and now I've done it. Ugh, it's just been a combination of sickness, laziness, tiredness and busy. I promise you that I am putting this on my to-do list first thing tomorrow and will get the last day finished. I also have my pictures from the behind the fun tour, so I will scan those in too and post them.:)

I'm back!!!

As promised, here are the Fun Times for Saturday, last day! I hate the feeling of the last day, knowing that the cruise is over and it's going to be back to work on Monday! UGH! Plus, all the unpacking, laundry, and getting back in the groove.

I read other reviews whenever the part comes about the last day, I get that same feeling. It's still fun, but just knowing in the back of your mind that tomorrow morning you have to leave. It really sets in when you see the luggage tags, left by the steward for you!

Anyway, back to the Fun Times. Here you go:

We had booked the Behind the Fun Tour soon after we boarded the ship at the excursion desk. I had been wanting to do this tour and figured this would be a great time to do it, since I figured the weather could be nasty. I must have psychic powers, it turned out to be an ugly and rainy day. We were really looking forward to doing the tour.

We didn't know what to expect, so we headed up to Lido to breakfast. I was too lazy to wash my hair and style it, so in the upcoming pictures you will see I am having a bad hair day, lol.

We now come to the point where we were all ready for the tour. We were to meet in the piano bar at 8:15. Cheri and Bob had said that they had booked this tour, too, so we were expecting to see them there.

We get to the Piano bar, show someone our tickets, and have a seat and wait. There was coffee, tea, and an assortment of pastries available here. Had I known this, I would have skipped breakfast at Lido that morning and just had coffee and a little something for breakfast there. I was getting so sick of food by this time, lol. It's just too much for me.

We never did see Cheri and Bob and concluded that there must have been another tour group. We found out later we were correct in that assumption.

When it came time for the tour to start, a security guy showed up. He stayed with us through the duration. At the door as we exited, we were we "wanded". No electronics permitted, no phones, no cameras, nothing. They have the right to search your pockets also and ask you if you have anything. I believe one person even had to turn in his medication.

The first stop was the Taj Mahal theater. We went up on stage. An employee from this area came to tell us all about the stage, shows, etc. After this, we went to the dressing room. All the costumes and tight quarters!

We proceeded to hit the Galley, where we talked to a chef, a large walk-in cooler, the engine control room, laundry area, human resource room, crew bar, bridge. While we were walking in one of the areas we saw the other tour and waved to Cheri! So they had two groups of 16.

The last stop was the Steakhouse. The chef explained the cuts of meats, preparation, etc. He gave us a gift of fancy soap. (swan shaped, I believe).

Immediately after that, we were instructed to go to the opposite side of the dining room, where we had our choice of orange juice, mimosa, or water. We also completed a survey and received a gift of a small backpack (just like a drawstring bag), two ball caps (suitable for woman, not man - it looked ridiculous on DH). Also we were told there would be a treat back at our cabin sometime during the day, and our photos delivered. On the survey, you were able to give your opinions of the tour. I wrote that I wanted to see the morgue and the brig! DH wanted to see the medical office. We have never seen that.

One thing I will mention is that it was difficult to hear in the galley. The chef spoke, but with the background noise, combined with his accent, I couldn't get much of it. The engine control room guy had such a thick Italian accent that I couldn't make much of that either. In the laundry room, our time was cut short due to time. We had to hurry along.

But I am really glad that I did this. At $95 a person, it was expensive, but one of those things that I just wanted to see for myself.

Also note: we were given a break at the point where we reached the crew bar, orange and water were offered and time for those who wanted to use restrooms.

Attached are photos from the galley, the bridge, and with the captain.

The entire tour lasted about 3.5 hours. Gosh, maybe even longer than that, because when we were finished, we went to the MDR for lunch. More food . I had a tomato soup for a starter and chicken for entrée. We were seated with a mother and daughter and a woman older than me, by herself. I really wasn't hungry, but managed to eat the soup and the chicken. It was tasty.

We did not order any dessert because the mother/daughter team reminded us about the chocolate buffet! Oh no! So, we headed up to Lido. First though, we stopped by our cabin to get the camera.

Here was the "treat" promised by the Behind The Fun Tour guide:

They were sweet treats. We did taste some of these, but could not eat all of them.

Took a picture looking out at sea from our room. See how ugly of a day it was?

After the chocolate buffet, we waddled around the ship. We end up going to look for our photos. What a mess that place is. I find my photos, and find that of course I look terrible in all of them. I promptly remove them from the gallery to the recycle bin so no one else from that point on can see them :o

ALSO FORGOT TO MENTION: During the Behind the Fun Tour, we visit the photo processing room. An employee tells us how many photo the ship takes during a day. An ENORMOUS amount. I forget the exact number, but in the tens of thousands  A person in our tour group asks why they don't store the photos digitally so they wouldn't have the waste. The employee's reply was that they recycle all the photos, so trash that is created is minimal. I still say there has got to be a better way. I personally don't like my crappy photos on display for the entire ship to see.

Anyway, DH says that he is tired and suggests that we go back to cabin to take a nap. We did and slept for over an hour. That is very unusual for me, but I tell ya, I felt like I was run over by a truck and then ran a marathon.

Some photos I took, I think this was just before we took the nap:

After our nap, evening is approaching. This was the time change weekend, and we had announcements and notice that we were going to set our clocks back on Friday night, rather than Saturday night. I guess it just makes it easier for the passenger to get accustomed to the change and this way everyone will be prepared for debarkation on Sunday.

Went outside to grab some photos at sea, for one last time

I think we hit the casino another time, and lost what I had built up. I think our total loss was $80. Boo.

Went to cabin before dinner to change and one last towel animal:

Had a nice dinner with friends made during the cruise, and afterwards went to comedy to see Seth Buchwald another time.

We were planning on doing self assist, so we did not have to set our luggage out in the hall. We tried to make some organization of things in the cabin, but it was all a mess, lol.

We also went to see some of the Legends show this night in the theater. DH got up during the show to go to the shops and buy some Sheridan's. I just sat and waited for him to return. He didn't take long at all.

We went to bed fairly early, we were still tired and knew what was coming tomorrow - a drive home to Ohio from Baltimore.

No Fun Times to show for today!

We get up and shower, and get everything organized and stuff it all in our bags!

At least it is a sunny day!

We go to lido buffet for breakfast. It is totally PACKED. We look and look for a seat.

After we eat, we head back to collect our bags and vacate our cabin by 8:00 or so. The elevators are all full and a long wait, so we take our bags down the steps. Ugh. Snapped some pictures of the elevators:

We wait in a line less than 15 minutes to get off the ship.

We head outside, and I make a call to the hotel where our car is. The return shuttle was included in the price I paid for the hotel.

We wait about 15 minutes for the shuttle driver to show up.

We get to our car load up, and start our 6 hour drive to Ohio. So glad that DH drove the entire way so I could take a nap!

It takes me a week to recover from this trip. Also, had a terrible cough, headaches, and just feeling like crap in general. Not sure if it was something contagious or just sinus problems, as I seem to have at this time every year.

Well, that's all folks! Until next time....:)

Thanks for the review. On your one picture where you were back in the USA and there was some ship next to you, there looked like there was white things in the sky. Were those birds? Isn't it sad coming off the ship? I didn't see anyone smiling in your pictures.

Thank you for your review and pictures. I loved the Pride when we went last year. I'm so sad that its going away next year and I won't be able to get on it again from Baltimore. Its great seeing her again. I love the lounge with the candles. In the evening, it was like it was lit up my candles.

Unfortunately, there are way too many ships and not enough time, so it will be a while before I go back to the Pride. At least I have the Independence in less than 3 weeks.

I just had to go back and look. Honestly, I don't know what they were! I don't think they were birds? But can't say for sure.

Yes it is sad coming off the ship. I don't blame anyone for not smiling! It is not anything like the day you get on the ship, that's for sure!

WONDERFUL Review Brenda!!! Soo glad we met you and Scott.. can't wait to sail again in February with you guys! We have to start looking at Shore Excursions! :D:D

Thanks Susan! And we are excited about our February cruise, we will all have so much fun. I definitely want to do the baths in Tortola - but other than that, I have no idea. I haven't even begun to look at excursions. I will probably be so last minute this time. Time is going to fly by, but that's a good thing in this case!

Thanks for reading, I am sad the Pride is leaving too. It was a great ship and not too bad of a drive, rather than fly. We may have to look at another cruise line on the east coast in the future, because we really liked not having to deal with the airlines. Enjoy your upcoming cruise!

Looks like you had so much fun..having a great roll call is everything. Had a ver active, fun roll call on our HAL cruise. Since it is just DH and myself this cruise, it will be fun if we meet some fun friends. If not, that ok too.

Yes, I agree a fun roll call and great people can really make a difference. You will probably meet friends, but you don't get the opportunity, enjoy the time together!

Hello there, just returned today from our 7 day cruise on the Pride out of Baltimore.

We went over the day before the cruise and stayed at the Best Western on Dorsey Road (near BWI). We had dinner at the pub next door.

We visited Port Canaveral, Nassau and Freeport. We had a Halloween party on the ship on the 31st (Nassau day).

For the first time, we had a category 4k cabin, which is an interior room with a French door. The door opens for some fresh air and also lets light in, so it is really not like an interior at all. Also, there is a couch and table in the room, the set up is really like a balcony room. I have lots of pictures and will share them after I have them all uploaded.

We had anytime dining for the third time. The service ranged from fair to good, the first night being the worst. The first night, DH asked for iced tea and never received it. We ate dinner at the buffet one night, and it was not good at all. Next time, if I don't want to eat dinner at the buffet, I think I would just order room service.

We had a great roll call and ended up with 37 people at the meet and greet. We met up with some of these people at different times during the cruise and even at the ports.

I need to upload the pictures, so I will be back later to share them! ;) :)

Going on a Pride Cruise soon. Second time on the ship. I was on the You Tube Carnival site that showed improvements in on board activities. More interactive stage games. Better comedy, Great DJ's. Did you notice big improvements in the activities? You are an experienced Carnival cruiser so has ther been more FUN added?
