chellebells Posted November 7, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2013 Is the Muster Drill on Explorer still held outside on the deck and wearing the life jackets? Thank you in advance!

rummenroman Posted November 7, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2013 Some muster stations are inside, some are outside. Unless you have been on that ship before you really have no way of knowing if you will be inside or outside. Royal did do away with wearing life jackets several years ago. I am so glad to hear no more life jackets. It has been several years since I have been on Explorer and I remember standing on the cold windy deck, crammed in like sardines with life jackets on. On a positive note, I remember a nice employee getting my elderly father a chair off to the side to make it easier on him. :)
Mid43 Posted November 7, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2013 Your muster station location is all dependent on where your stateroom is located plain and simple. Some staterooms muster stations are outside, some are inside.
reedl Posted November 7, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 7, 2013 On the Allure, they do not even have life jackets in the cabins anymore. You are supposed to get them from the muster station now. I think that it is a much better method.

Several people had tripped and fell down the stairs over the years. :(
