RonJoan Posted November 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) Just the picture of that "Floating Hotel" monstrosity of a Cruise Ship turns me off! I could never be happy cruising on one of those Monsters! RonJoan Edited November 7, 2013 by RonJoan
sail7seas Posted November 7, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) They make a lot of money on that sort of 'charter'. I think those who stay on that brand new ship for Superbowl likely will have a great time. :) Edited November 7, 2013 by sail7seas
Fouremco Posted November 7, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2013 Can you buy tickets to the game as a shore excursion? :D
Sandy Sails Posted November 7, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) Can you buy tickets to the game as a shore excursion? :D Hysterical! :p However, we all know the ship's excursions are over-priced! rkacruiser Posted November 7, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2013 There might be a good cruising deal here. If because of the charter, the ship will be "out of synch" with its usual cruising schedule, there may be a very well priced short cruise available in order to get it back into its usual pattern. When the Zuiderdam was used as a hotel ship at Jacksonville when the Super Bowl was there, there was an attractive 4 day cruise that I booked before she returned to her usual schedule. George C Posted November 7, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 7, 2013 Went to a computer conference a while ago in New Orleans, they ran out of hotel rooms and had about 6 cruise ships charter just to use for rooms.

Typhoon1 Posted November 7, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 7, 2013 What a money maker. I recall one of the HAL ships being used when it was played in Florida several years ago.
sail7seas Posted November 7, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 7, 2013 I remember when several ships, including Westerdam, were to be chartered for use as hotel for World Cup....... and then the charter was cancelled.
