Noticed a young adult with Down's Syndrome standing with his parents at karaoke in the casino.

He was looking rather anxious. So I walked by and introduced myself to them and asked them if they were enjoying karaoke.

He said that he was, but that he was suppose to sing Summer Nights with his Aunt, but she was in the casino and he feared he would miss out on singing if she did not come back.

So I asked him if it was ok if I sang with him if she did not return and his eyes just lit up.

Sure enough his was the next name called and his aunt was no where in sight, so we hopped up there and rocked it!! His Dad stood beside him to help him with the words.

We got thunderous applause and he was so excited.

They stayed to watch the rest of the performers and I ran to an ACD I knew and got a ship on a stick.

I presented the ship on a stick to him in front of everyone to another round of thunderous applause. He was just beaming.

As the Mom of the special needs adult....it does not get any better than this!

Just went on the SPLENDOR on Nov. 1st. Went with my wife, my brother and sis-in-law. My brother and his wife had never even seen a ship, let alone went on a cruise. As we were walking on, I looked over and he was crying....he had just finished twelve weeks of chemo, and was just happy to be alive and going on his first cruise.

44 cruises and that's my favorite memory from ANY of them.

Finding out Carnival was giving us a free cruise after our luggage was dropped in the Gulf in Galveston at the end of our first cruise.

I was on that cruise and saw the distressed looks of the workers after in happened. I always wondered if you got fair compensation.

A few years ago we just got on the Glory and my son (12 at the time) was being uncooperative. I just wanted ONE nice picture and he couldn't stop being silly. I was getting a bit irked and then one of his facial expressions just sent me over the edge. I started laughing and lightening up. The stress of travel/being in a new environment just washed away.

I go back to those pictures every so often and they still make me laugh.

My first cruise on the Triumph in 2004 I was in complete amazement of everything on the ship . Pulling out of the Port of Miami and waving to everyone on the beach from the Lido deck while "heaven " by Los Lonely Boys was playing . Still till this day whenever I hear this song it takes me back to that Saturday in May that began my love for cruising . And this January will be my 6th one :-)

I'm a singer, (not professional) and on a recent "Ecstasy" cruise, I was asked to sing a "Command Performance" for the Captain. I did, and we had a FANTASTIC time with him, and several of the Staff Officers. ;) GREAT FUN, and I was, and am very flattered!

I went on stage to play a game. Didn't know at the time it was dropping a coin in a cup using only your butt cheeks. I had on a short skirt with shorts on underneath. Skorts ? The game host asked me since I had on a skirt would i like to sit out. I told him heck no and raised my skirt to the gasp of the audience. When they saw I had shorts on, I got a big laugh and a round of applause.

On the Glory a few years ago with our kids and they had an open mic at the comedy club and our son decided to do it.

he did an outstanding 5 minutes of standup comedy. First time for him.

Being around neat families doing this and Kareoke..and bringing the group into the fun..the absolute best part of Carnival and never being "solo" when you travel!!

I still have great memories from my first Carnival cruise on Imagination - at end of our last dinner the waiters gave us each a lovely print of the ship suitable for framing and I still have it framed and hanging up by my computer desk :)

That cruise also had the best Filipino cover band - 5 piece...if you closed your eyes the slim little gal sounded just like Aretha and the guitar player did a mean Jimi Hendrix to Purple Haze, complete with guitar behind his neck!

Milestone cruise (25th) on the Legend; we were invited to have dinner with the Captain and some of his staff. What a great evening. Also had pictures taken with him.

Just had our 37th cruise, again on the Legend and invited to a reception with the Captain, but he did not show up. We still had a great time.'

We have only been on one cruise, but we had such a GREAT time! My DH and I took my stepson on a cruise for his high school graduation. One night he took off his shirt and rolled up his shorts and took a picture with two sombreros in front of him. It looked like he was naked behind the hats. Well, we couldn't just leave it at that. We had to go to all the different picture stations and have really silly pics taken. It was so much fun to see such a silly side of my DSS. We got another laugh when we saw the results of the photo sessions. That photo with the sombreros sits in my formal living room now.
